Reviews
This is a pretty generic recipe. We make a concentrated ginger syrup (sometimes ginger-lime) and then use less ginger beer (too sweet). It’s more gingery/spicy and less carbonated. If you want to add flavored ice cubes, I’d suggest just ginger beer or ginger ale ones; seems like distilled water ice would dilute the drink.
Skip the ice cubes. They don’t add flavour as the lime zest and ginger are suspended. If you really want a nice cube, try simmering the lime and ginger, strain, and freeze that water. Once it melts, it adds kick on a hot day. It’s not as pretty or noticeable, but it’s not just there for appearance either.
It needs more lime! I use the juice of a whole lime in each mule and they are delicious!
Tasty, refreshing and easy. Just what the doctor ordered.
