Ingredients

  1. 1 1/4 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (5 to 7 lemons), divided
  2. 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  3. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  4. 1 1/2 cups good vodka, such as Grey Goose
  5. 6 tablespoons sugar syrup (see Cook’s Note)
  6. 1/4 cup Italian limoncello liqueur
  7. 1 1/2 cups cold sparkling water, such as San Pellegrino
  8. Ice cubes
  9. Thinly sliced lemon rounds, for serving

Instructions

  1. For the salt-sugar rim on the glasses, pour 1/4 cup of the lemon juice in a shallow bowl. Combine the salt and sugar on a small plate. Dip the rim of the glasses first in the lemon juice and then dip them lightly in the salt-sugar mixture. Set aside to dry.
  2. Combine the vodka, the 1 cup of lemon juice, sugar syrup, and limoncello in a large pitcher. Just before serving, pour in the sparkling water and stir.
  3. Fill each glass with ice. Pour the cocktail mixture over the ice, garnish each drink with a slice of lemon, and serve ice cold.

Amazing and proportions are spot on. Not too strong like so many of her cocktails. Will make often this summer! Thank you, Ina!

This is really good and I don’t like vodka!  It’s light and refreshing. Truly a perfect summer time cocktail.

This is the perfect summertime drink! It’s so refreshing!

Did everything according to the recipe except the glass rims – just did sugar. These were DELICIOUS! In fact, they may be too delicious! They go down easy – tastes like fancy lemonade. Definitely five stars.

I tried this exactly as published and thought it was so-so.  Second time I ditched the salt-sugar on the rim, increased the limoncello to 2/3 cup and used club soda in place of the San Pelligrino.  It’s amazing, very refreshing but much more elegant than lemonade and vodka.

So very easy and delicious!

Wonderful refreshing summer cocktail! Can adjust sweetness to your liking with the amount of simple syrup – I prefer drinks less sweet so only use 4 instead of 6 Tablespoons as limoncello already has sugar in it.

Sooooo good!!!  Made these for some friends that came to the house last night and they were a big hit.  Thanks Ina – another home run, as usual.
