Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. 3 ounces corn whiskey
  2. 2 ounces fresh lemon juice
  3. 1 ounce freshly-pressed corn juice
  4. 1 ounce agave syrup
  5. 1 egg white
  6. 1 strip lemon zest
  7. Ear of corn, for shaving
  8. Bitters, such as Angostura Bitters, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Add the whiskey, lemon juice, corn juice, agave syrup and egg white to a cocktail shaker without ice. Shake for 20 seconds to emulsify, then add ice and shake again for another 20 seconds to chill.
  2. Strain into a pre-chilled wine glass or mug, then ‘cure’ the foam by twisting (then discarding) the lemon zest over the top of the drink.
  3. Shave a super-thin slice of corn from the cob. Garnish the drink with the corn slice and a drizzle of bitters for a classy, colorful presentation, or sprinkle loose kernels and bitters on top for a country-chowder effect.

Not a bartender nor whiskey sour aficionado, but the corn juice sounded interesting! Made for myself and two others, added a touch more whiskey tbh. All three of us enjoyed it!
