Hawaiian Roast Beef Sliders

literally translated as “pizza water.” Mulligatawny Soup was created by Anglo-Indians. The soup course was developed by servants for the English Raj who wanted one from a cuisine that had never offered one. This soup can be prepared a day in advance, and chicken chunks can be included.

Prep Time: 20 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Servings: 12
Yield: 12 sliders

Ingredients

  1. 1 (12 count) package Hawaiian bread rolls (such as King’s®)
  2. 3 slices provolone cheese, cut into quarters
  3. 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  4. ⅓ cup soy sauce
  5. 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  6. 1 teaspoon chili-garlic sauce
  7. 1 teaspoon finely grated fresh ginger
  8. 12 slices deli roast beef
  9. 12 pineapple tidbits
  10. 2 tablespoons chopped green onion

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Slice Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Open the rolls like a book, and place the bottom halves, cut-sides up, on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Place 1 piece Provolone cheese on the cut side of each bottom roll. Spread 1 teaspoon mayonnaise on the cut side of each top roll.
  4. Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, chili-garlic sauce, and ginger in a small saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil. Cook, stirring occasionally, until sauce has thickened and is reduced by half, 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  5. Dip one slice of roast beef into the sauce, coating both sides. Place on a bottom roll, folding to fit. Repeat with remaining beef slices until all rolls are covered. Place top halves of rolls on top of beef. Cover with foil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted and sliders are heated through, 10 to 15 minutes.
  7. Secure a pineapple tidbit on top of each slider with a toothpick and sprinkle with chopped green onions for garnish. Serve warm.
  8. You can use any mild, white cheese instead of Provolone.
