Great way to use up leftover turkey from Thanksgiving.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 50 mins
Total Time: 1 hr
Servings: 6
Yield: 1 7×12-inch baking dish

Ingredients

  1. 2 (10 ounce) packages frozen broccoli spears
  2. ¼ cup margarine
  3. 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  4. salt and ground black pepper to taste
  5. 2 cups chicken broth
  6. ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  7. 3 tablespoons white wine
  8. 3 cups cooked turkey breast, sliced
  9. ¼ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Place broccoli in a saucepan with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover, and simmer until tender, 5 to 8 minutes. Drain.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  3. Melt margarine in a saucepan over medium heat; stir in flour, salt, and pepper and mix well. Pour in chicken broth; cook and stir until sauce thickens and bubbles, about 10 minutes. Add cream and wine; stir until well-combined.
  4. Arrange broccoli on the bottom of a 7×12-inch baking dish. Pour half of the sauce over the broccoli. Top sauce with sliced turkey. Stir Monterey Jack cheese into the remaining sauce in the saucepan. Pour cheese sauce over the turkey.
  5. Bake the turkey divan in the preheated oven until bubbly, about 20 minutes. Broil until the cheese sauce is golden, about 5 minutes.

My husband liked this dish, but it did not compare to the Easy Turkey Tetrazzini that I made three days before it. Nonetheless, I followed the directions, and there wasn’t too much left after three adults had some. My mother – in – law suggested adding more than three cups of turkey next time.

My husband and I enjoyed it and I would make it again. I used steam-in-the-bag broccoli and butter instead of margarine.

I followed this recipe exactly, except used chicken instead of turkey. It was SO boring. After investing in heavy cream and white wine, I was so very dissapointed.

This is a delicious recipe. I made 2 small adjustments, I used fresh broccoli and used butter instead of margarine. I reheated very well. And the sauce! OMG! I could eat an old sneaker if I could put this sauce on it. I will definitely be making this again. I used a roasted turkey breast from Costco for this. Amazing

added chopped onion/garlic and some Thyme to the butter, used 1.75 c. chicken broth and .75 c. whole milk. Cooked up egg noodles to serve underneath. Covered mixture with panko, and broiled it before taking it out of the oven.

Excellent recipe!! I sliced up my leftover Thanksgiving turkey and I microwaved the frozen broccoli. Used light cream instead of heavy cream in the sauce and it was yummy. The wine added another dimension. Hubby loved it and it reheated great.

I used fresh broccoli but other than that followed the recipe. I added French’s crispy Fried Onions on top before I put in the oven to cook. That’s how the chef use to serve it in the cafeteria of my office building. They make the dish extra yummy.

We loved this recipe but I replaced the broccoli with the left over green beans from Thanksgiving. It was divine!

Absolutely delicious! My whole picky family loved it and ate too much!! My subs: I chopped up onion and added it to my butter before adding the flour. I totally forgot the wine and I’m sure it would’ve been even better with it. I also added French’s fried onions to the top. This recipe is super easy to make and you can make so many variations, thank you for the inspiration!

This was the best way to use leftover turkey. The only things I changed was adding fresh broccoli and adding leftover turkey gravy to the broth. It’s a keeper!

I love this recipe! Didn’t have any broccoli so I used asparagus and it was great. Love that sauce.

This was delicious!! I made it exactly as written.

Hub said to add it to the weekly rotation! Used 1/2 muenster, 1/2 cheddar cheese. Served over rice.

Very tasty! Followed recipe except for recommendations to use 1.5 cups chicken broth and 1 cup milk versus cream.

My husband thought it was good, so I’ll be making it again to use up turkey leftovers. I found it a little bland so I will add some onion and a bit of garlic to the next batch and see how that goes.

This came out very good. I used broccoli that you prepare in the microwave. I just cooked it less than recommended. I would recommend putting it under the broiler for a few minutes to get some color on it.

I altered this so take my review with a grain of salt. I had leftover turkey deli meat, cheese, broccoli, mini-bell peppers and sliced onion from a party that I needed to use up. I steamed the broccoli, sautéed the bell peppers and onions and put them all in the bottom of the dish. I made the sauce as written, though I can’t be 100% sure that it was all Monterrey Jack cheese that I used since it was a mixed cheese platter. My 7 year old son said it was “disgusting,” but he also doesn’t care for broccoli. Hubby and I liked it.

I made this, for the 1st time, last night. Wow was this popular! Everyone had three helpings and poof, it was gone! I used fresh broccoli and evaporated milk because it was all we had. I sauteed some onions & minced garlic, in the butter, with a pinch of crushed Tyme and a splash of the wine, before adding the flour. This was served over rotini. I must say, it was refreshing to make the siauce, from scratch, rather than dump in salty cans of soup! This recipe is simple, quick, comfort food. Will definitely make again.

Excellent. I made this last night with Christmas Turkey leftovers from the freezer. I used frozen broccoli but I cooked in microwave and then let it drain in a strainer and then dry on paper towels to get the water out. I used light cream instead of heavy to save on calories. And I added panko bread crumbs on top – just a personal thing with crunch. Otherwise, I made as directed and it was fabulous! To the reviewer who said this was too salty, please note the recipe said “salt to taste.” I’ll definitely make this again – the wine was perfect in the sauce. And thank you for a recipe that didn’t include canned soup!!!!

Easy and tasty! I added cheese to the entire sauce pot (was lazy) and it was great. Added chopped mushrooms and peas, it’s a versatile dish. If you don’t have cream at home, use 1.5 c milk and 1c broth (keep to 2.5c liquid total).

Oh the sauce! Oh the sauce! Oh the sauce! I didn’t have leftover turkey so I bought rotisserie turkey slices from the deli. I microwaved a bag of broccoli for 5 minutes. I made the sauce as described, except left out the cheese. My husband was giving me a hard time because I spent next to no time cooking in the kitchen. 20 minutes in a convection oven and dinner is served! He cleaned his plate and came back for seconds! It was not soupy at all. Rich, thick and delicious! The wine and the cream made this sauce special. This is a winner!
