The meat from rib tips cooked in a slow cooker is tender and falls off the bone. Put them on the grill for a few minutes or broil them to finish them off.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 4 hrs 5 mins
Additional Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 4 hrs 25 mins
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  2. 1 tablespoon chili powder
  3. 1 teaspoon salt
  4. 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  5. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  6. 1 teaspoon onion powder
  7. 1 pound pork rib tips
  8. 1 (18 ounce) bottle BBQ sauce, divided
  9. 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring

Instructions

  1. Mix together brown sugar, chili powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a large bowl until combined. Add rib tips and mix until ribs are thoroughly coated. Let rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  2. Place coated ribs in a slow cooker. Stir together 3/4 of the BBQ sauce with liquid smoke in a medium bowl until well combined. Pour evenly over ribs.
  3. Cook on Low until ribs are tender, 4 to 6 hours.
  4. Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven’s broiler. Line a baking tray or broiler rack with aluminum foil.
  5. Remove ribs to the prepared tray and baste with remaining BBQ sauce.
  6. Cook ribs under the preheated broiler until sauce is hot and sticky, 3 to 5 minutes per side.
  7. You can grill the rib tips instead of broiling.

Not much of a barbecue sauce person. Maybe I hadn’t found the right one. But I bought a peach bourbon jar from a fall festival that I had not used and today, I found the right recipe for it. Oh my Lord!!!! Yes, the sauce is definitely a good choice and I will go back to get more… but this rib tip recipe… is just heavenly!!!! Definitely a keeper!!! Thanks for such a thorough and easy guide through it. LOVED IT!!! The family DEVOURED IT!!! Great with garlic mashed potatoes and corn on the cob.

Delicious! I added a lil water & did not broil them. I cooked them for 6 hours. Fell off the bone. Definitely do again

I liked them-but did not love them. The recipe was worth making one time. 🙂

I liked this very much, but I used boneless rib tips, so the broiling part of the recipe made them dry. Next time, I will use bone-in as written. The taste was great, however. I mixed 1/2 cup of beer with the bbq sauce and liquid smoke.

My entire family loved this. The flavor is so good. Finger licking good. The only thing I did different is not add all the brown sugar I added only half the amount so it would not make it super sweet. It was perfect falling off the bone. Pork Rib Tips are hard to find. I finally found them at 99 Ranch Market. Definitely this recipe is a keeper.

This is a great recipe for ribs. I couldn’t find rib tips at our market, so I got a slab of baby back pork ribs, cut them up and used the recipe on them as is. Fantastic. Everyone loved them. Thanks. This will be a favorite.

I followed recipe exactly. Tasty, yet needed a bit more kick to me. Plenty of sauce in slow cooker to serve on the side with the ribs. I cooked 4 hours. Easy to make.

This was so easy and delicious. Pork tips are on sale so often at our local grocery store. This makes for an inexpensive meal that can feed an entire family

I made this and although the taste was okay, it is probably something I wouldn’t make again. Although I did like the bite that it gave, it was a little to sweet for my taste. Overall okay, but I wouldn’t rave about it.
