Slow Cooker Cranberry Turkey Breast

  4.3 – 85 reviews  • Turkey Breast

I obtained the recipe from my elderly neighbor, and it tastes fantastic. The second-day leftovers can be prepared by layering mashed potatoes or whatever, turkey pieces, any cooked vegetable, and some of the sauce. To easily double the recipe for company, use a bigger slow cooker. Excellent with a rolled white and dark flesh turkey or a boneless breast.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 7 hrs
Total Time: 7 hrs 10 mins
Servings: 6
Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 (16 ounce) can cranberry sauce
  2. 1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
  3. ½ cup orange juice
  4. 1 (3 pound) boneless turkey breast

Instructions

  1. Place the cranberry sauce in a bowl, and mash. Mix in the onion soup mix and orange juice together until the mixture is well combined.
  2. Spray the inside of a slow cooker with cooking spray, and place the turkey breast into the cooker. Pour the sauce ingredients over the turkey breast. Set the cooker on Low, and cook until the turkey breast is very tender, about 7 hours.

I buy the turkey breast from Costco and double the recipe just for the fun of it and it turns out amazing every time totally love!!

It does NOT need 7 hours. Mine was in for 5 with 1 hr on high after reading the comments and it’s borderline dry. Followed another rating here and added the gravy packet so the sauce is less sweet, works. Overall a fine recipe for a turkey breast we bought and didn’t know what to do with. I’ll use a chicken whole or quarters next time.

Been making this for years, it’s delicious. Everyone I give the recipe to loves it as well!

I make this all the time. I’ve used chicken as well. I usually add carrots and/or red potatoes. Sometimes I mash potatoes and thicken the cranberry and oj mixture and use it as gravy. Always a winner.

This is one of my favorite slow cooker recipes. As I don’t really like cranberry sauce, I was a little skeptical to add it to my crockpot. But I am one of those that believes you should try a recipe as written before you make substitutions. And boy was I glad I did! The cranberry sauce melted into the liquid and melded with the citrus flavor of the orange. All I can say is WOW! You must try just as written—it is perfect!

I had my doubts reading the recipe but it was delicious!!!

I made this for Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit. It is so easy to prepare and makes a beautiful presentation as well. I will make this again.

There’s an added step, Pre-heated oven @350 and Roast until Brown 15 minutes.

I used turkey thighs because we prefer dark meat. It was delicious. Next time I am going to add some dried cranberries.

Awesome recipe, I don’t think I can eat plain turkey anymore.

I had a 7 lb full Jenny-o turkey breast with bone in and it was too big for the slo-cooker. I used a long piece of foil, sprayed it with cooking spray, used it loosely around the breast and put the sauce on and around the turkey. Leave a small opening on each end and fold loosely over the top. It baked in the oven in 3.5 hours at 325 degrees. I made the sauce with 2 cans of whole berry cranberry sauce, a 1.4 ounce package of Knorr’s French onion soup mix, 1 cup of orange juice. The sodium was less than using 2 of the 1 ounce packages of soup mix of other brands. It was just right for the larger breast. The taste was phenomenal! It was very moist and the onion didn’t overpower the flavor of the turkey. This is so easy and so good! Everyone loved it at Sunday Dinner!

It was ok. It wasn’t as flavorful as i thought. Tastes much better than it smells! OMG! It smelled awful! I used boneless skinless turkey thighs, added dried cranberries as well. Probably won’t make it again.

I get a boneless turkey breast with cornbread stuffing. Comes out AMAZING every time. Love this recipe!!!

Loved this and so did the family. I rubbed the outside with lemon pepper olive oil and seasoned the herbs de Provence and lemon pepper seasoning before adding the sauce and it was amazing! Will definitely make again.

it was pretty good but I think I let it go too long in the cooker. Got a little overdone on the edges (my fault).

This recipe got high marks from my husband. At first it looked as if it would be stringy but it was nothing like that. There was flavor in every bite and it was moist and tender. I actually used home made cranberry sauce the first time, which I highly recommend.

It was good. I made it exactly as instructed with one slightly different ingredient – I used a bonelesss wild turkey breast instead of your typical store bought turkey. It was slightly dry and didn’t quite “pull apart.” After 6 hours I broke it apart in hopes it would absorb more juices, and it did. The sauce is good, but if I were to try this again I might add a cup of water.

This was so easy and so delicious- it was unbelieveable. Apparently other awesome cooks on AllRecipes knew about this awesome combination. It was a revelation to me. My hubby and I almost ate the entire turkey breast it was THAT delicious. We paired it with mashed sweet potatoes. Also, I advise not being in the kitchen while this is cooking– you won’t be able to stand yourself all day long. Thank you! Also tip: I wasn’t sure to use cranberry jelly or whole cranberry sauce- I used the jelly but I don’t know it matters.

Very tasty, I did what others and did not add the onion soup mix. I sprinkled thyme, salt, pepper on the turkey before adding the sauce. I will definitely will make again.

Excellent way to have turkey. Moist and tasty throughout. I’m not doing it any other way ever again.
