This marinade can be made quickly and deliciously in the morning and set aside for the entire day. It can easily be doubled, tripled, or even more when using pork or beef. Just before serving, sprinkle the top with thin orange peel strips to add flair.

I followed the recipe exactly, no substitutions, and I marinated two chicken chicken breasts, with bones and skin, for two hours. In our case, the marinade did not add flavor, but the chicken was moist and tender. I like that this is a simple recipe, but I would like more flavor in the marinade. There was enough marinade for another chicken breast.
I live in an apartment with no grill access so I used boneless skinless chicken breasts marinated overnight in the fridge then cooked them in the oven at 400 degrees for 25 minutes, then rest for 10 minutes before cutting. They turned out so tender and moist, but the soy sauce flavor was overpowering with just a slight hint of garlic. Next time I’d double the orange juice and maybe add some zest in too, along with some ginger. I do appreciate smaller portion size recipes like this though since it’s just me and my husband eating. I’ll make this again with some tweaks!
This was absolutely fantastic!!!! I used one large orange & juiced it along with a little zest. Cut large pieces of boneless skinless breast & then marinated for Kabobs, my husband raved about it & begged me to “keep’ that recipe!
I wouldn’t make this again
I used freshly squeezed oranges because I had time and oranges. Just soy & orange juice.
I have made this recipe exactly like the instructions but I only had time to marinate the chicken for 3 hours. While cooking, the sauce dried up too much so I had to add a 1/2 of water when reheating. The taste is unusual and delicious. And this recipe fits the Paleo diet! A win situation!
I’ve been making this for years and is one of my favorite quick chicken recipes to make with fried rice. The only thing I add is red pepper flakes to give it a little kick.
I made this but instead of marinating it for 2 hours I marinated overnight and it gave it a lot of flavor and it was juicy. I personally loved it
Spice it up with powdered mustard, hot red peppers, or ginger and it goes well with Chinese dishes. Delicious. When I see a one star rating along with mostly 4 and 5 star ratings, I suspect the cook made a measuring error.
This was a good, not great marinade. My family was indifferent to the results.
Simple recipe but, to me, flavorless. Perhaps not enough, I don’t know. I won’t use again. sorry.
Added some orange peel for more pronounced orange flavor, but will try the undiluted orange juice concentrate next time. Added black pepper and grated ginger (needed more!). My oven decided to stop working on the day I did this but my broiler still worked so I broiled these…so juicy! I might never use the actual oven when making this in the future!
Very good! I used breast tenderloins instead of whole breasts( i read the package wrong!) and added honey and a splash of lemon juice too. I grilled the tenderloins on our counter top foreman grill, and they were sooo moist and tender!
This was a very nice and easy recipe. I marinated breasts and thighs for about 6 hours and then put in the oven. I added ginger and honey as others suggested. Will most likely make again.
I took Stay Home Cook’s advice and added some grated fresh ginger. I also substituted the soy sauce for bragg sauce to keep the sodium level down. Sereved with brown wild rice and fresh steamed brococli, it was amazing.
This was a really delicious marinade. I made a few changes by adding some ground ginger (1/2 tsp) as well as a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil. I marinated the chicken overnight and then broiled it for 20 minutes, flipping it at 10 minutes and brushing some of the marinade on it. I dumped the remaining marinade into a pot and boiled it for a little while until it reduced and then spooned a little over the chicken. I served the chicken with brown rice and garnished with some chopped green onions. Very good! I’ll definitely be adding this to the rotation.

after not being able to find orange sauce at my local asian supermarket (large full size grocerystore) i tried this quick recipe that really satisfied my craving. Next time will use reduced sodium soy sauce
Awesome flavor. I did marinate overnight, and added honey as suggested in another review. Also tried with pork chops and turned out very tasty! Thanks for the recipe!
A good marinade. Very easy to make, my family liked it although I thought it was a little mild. Next time maybe I’ll kick it up a little.
I am seldom moved to review a recipe, but this one was not good at all. The soy sauce completely overwhelmed all taste of orange. My family wouldn’t finish it, and they aren’t terribly picky.
