For a healthy choice, simple homemade breakfast sausage is baked as opposed to fried. The cleanup is also minimal and there is no greasy spray.

Ingredients

  1. aluminum foil
  2. 1 pound ground pork
  3. 1 teaspoon rubbed sage
  4. 1 teaspoon salt
  5. 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  6. ½ teaspoon ground marjoram
  7. ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  8. ½ teaspoon onion powder
  9. ¼ teaspoon dried thyme leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Combine ground pork, sage, salt, paprika, marjoram, pepper, onion powder, and thyme in a bowl; mix until evenly combined. Form mixture into 10 small patties and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Flip and cook until internal temperature is at least 160 degrees F (74 degrees C), about 10 more minutes.
  4. If you like your patties extra crispy, cook under the broiler for an additional 3 minutes.

Nice blend of spices, will leave out sage next time, kids don’t like it. Might try adding maple syrup next time.
