Ingredients
- 8 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh rosemary
- 1 ½ tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
Instructions
- Whisk garlic, oil, rosemary, mustard, lemon juice, pepper, and salt together in a bowl. Reserve 2 tablespoons for basting.
- Place chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag. Pour remaining garlic mixture over top; seal the bag and massage marinade into chicken. Let stand for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
- Remove chicken from marinade and shake off excess. Discard remaining marinade.
- Cook chicken on the preheated grill for 4 minutes. Turn, baste with reserved marinade, and continue to grill until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 5 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
- Transfer chicken to a plate and cover with foil. Let rest for at least 2 minutes before serving.

Followed the recipe exactly. Love this!!!
This recipe is great for fast and flavorsome chicken. I used chickenthighs and added a bit of my secret spice mix , with a touch of Caribbean soy sauce. This intensified everything! My boo loves this recipe, and he don’t even like mustard lol! Definitely a keeper, you can play with the marinade as much as you want!
I don’t understand why this hasn’t went viral/more reviews. This recipe is exceptional! It tastes like chicken you’d order from a fine dining restaurant. I followed the recipe exactly, only adding a light dusting of Lawrys seasoning salt at the end.
Easy to make and turned out nice and juicy! I’d add more spices salt and garlic for flavor.
I used six bone-in chicken thighs, after removing the skin, myself. I marinated in the fridge overnight. I fried them (in two batches) in my airfryer. Best juicy flavorful chicken ever. Left-overs, even better. Making it again, today.
I marinated the chicken breasts for 2 hours since I had the time and I very much liked the flavor. And how nicely they looked when grilled. Thanks for sharing.
Yummy
This was an unexpectedly great recipe. I made a few modifications, I used 1/3 of the garlic and salt recommended and added a bit more olive oil. Instead of grilling, I baked the chicken breasts at 400 for 25 minutes and they came out moist and delicious. It’s a keeper.
This was absolutely amazing. The bold taste and fragrance was great. Found myself with leftover rosemary and found the recipe. Had all the ingredients and it made my husband very happy. Will definitely make it again.
This is the best recipe for chicken breast I’ve tried. I used a stovetop grill and followed the recipe as written although used dried rosemary. The chicken was moist and tender and delicious. I will definitely make this again.
I’m not a great cook and this was easy enough for me to make well. I made a few changes: I did not have rosemary so I used dried Italian Seasoning. I used Dijon Mustard Salad Dressing for the marinade. I made this with Dijon Mustard last time around and I’m not a big fan so I liked this better. I used less garlic which I think was a mistake. I did not have a grill so I butterflied the chicken breasts and cooked them on the stovetop in olive oil. The smaller pieces that had more marinade on them were the best. Even with my modifications the meal was delicious. I noticed someone mentioned they make this cubed on skewers and I can’t wait to try that next. Thanks for the recipe!
Love this recipe! I should have marinated it a bit longer because the flavor would have popped more. Instead of 30 mins. I should have done an hour. It grilled beautifully, and left a nice char on the chicken.
I am glad I marinated for 6 hours. Mild flavour. Was happy to use my garden fresh rosemary, didn’t use/ want Dijon. Will add more olive oil next time to marinade since it was a little dry. Thank you for recipe!
This sauce is fabulous. I didn’t use 8 cloves of garlic for this as I only had about 2.5 pounds of chicken. I added some sliced cucumber, Sautéed some mushrooms and onion and proceeded to cook until the chicken was no longer pink. Guys, if you’re reading this, this sauce tastes great. It’s simple and quick.
This recipe is amazing! I only used 2 chicken breasts, but followed the other ingredient amounts exactly and it turned out delicious. I loved the subtle hint of mustard flavor and didn’t think it was too overpowering. I used grey poupon made with white wine dijon mustard. I did cook my chicken on the grill a few minutes longer than the stated directions, but that’s only because I get nervous. I will definitely be making this recipe again!
I used 4 small and thin chicken breasts which I cut into chunks and cooked in oven on sheet pan at 425 with sliced potatoes which were in olive oil, minced rosemary and sea salt and pepper. I used the same amount of marinade though as called for in recipe. This had great flavor so I’m sure on the grill it is even better, isn’t everything?
Delicious! We can’t wait to make it again. Terrific flavor and easy to make.
Lovely and simple. I had all the ingredients on hand. I pounded the chicken to make it cook evenly. Cooked it on my indoor grill pan.
My kids gave this a high 5. It’s really good.
This marinade is a keeper for grilled chicken! Added 4 Tbsp. olive oil instead of 3. Used 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard and 2 Tbsp. lemon juice. Excellent!
I used 20 oz chicken breasts. They were on the grill nearly 40 minutes before they were done. The marinade was good. Depending on how much chicken you are making, I would suggest doubling everything. Tasty.
