It was good with some tweaks per suggestions from a few who also made it.
I followed the recipe but added minute rice with a can of water and dry onion soup. It came out perfect and was great.
The chicken turned out fine. But the rice was either hard or mushy. I might try this recipe again, but I’ll add some water next time.
It wasawful. Had no taste at all.
Used Beth S. recipe, since she mentioned using frozen chicken, added a can of mushroom and some cut up celery. Turned out great. Thanks
The only thing I did differently was add a can of water because the rice won’t cook without it. It turned out AWFUL. It was bland and mushy. Someone on this site should try the recipes beforehand.
I made this last week for my meal prep which means three meals for me and everytime it’s been very good. I did the recipe exactly as written and it was tasty but needed a flavor boost. The second meal I added Frank’s Red Hot and it helped. I will make this again but add something (such as dried onion soup mix or a chopped onion) before cooking. I also used instant rice and it came out perfect.
I loved this recipe. I changed nothing except adding salt and pepper before eating. I had no problem eating the leftovers for a couple days after.
I added 1/2 a red onion and fresh mushrooms. I cut the onion chunky to add texture after reading the reviews. I had no issues with the rice not cooking. Quick and easy!
its a good recipe, I think i would add some saute onions and some frozen peas to it. but that’s just me. plenty of leftovers.
Very bland. The rice was like mush. Threw it out.
3 lb boneless chicken thighs, cut in strips and browned in oil w s&p. 2 cans Progresso cream soup, 2 cups rice, 3 cups water, 1 packet Knorr veg soup mix, 1/2 lb spinach. 1 can chopped water chestnuts. On high for 3 hours.
This recipe is easy to make and always turns out fantastic! We only add a little Vegeta on the chicken to give a bit of extra flavor. I make this dinner often and my family always loves it. On the off chance that we have leftovers, they are always taken for lunch the next day. Thank you for sharing it!
My kids and boyfriend loved it! We only used cream of chicken soup though because the boyfriend is picky. LOL
it was good! just missing a few things. i read the reviews and added 2 cups of water like you would do for making just plain rice. needed a little more flavor. next time i am going to put cheese a bit of salt an onion powder.
I found this to be a little bland. Therefore, I do recommend adding a small amount of seasoning to suit your taste buds.
Most of the other reviewers made significant changes to this recipe to make IT taste good. What’s the point of an easy slow cooker meal, if you have to make the rice separately and need to significantly change the recipe? I added a cup of water as others suggested and ended up with a mushy, bland and tough chicken meal! YUK!
Not impressed. Soupy and bland. I added fresh mushrooms and used chicken thighs.
Husband loved. I omitted celery soup, added water and 1/2 packet of onion soup mix.
yes add seasoning
Fast, easy, and yummy. Not super flavorful though which I think is good, allows people to season their plates hoe they like. Added one soup can of water to it so the rice would cook all the way. Also added carrots and green beans, probably would have added other veggies if I had them. Ended up adding about a tsp of onion powder and a couple pinches of garlic salt (I think it needed more but my boyfriend did not agree). We like a lot of rice and ended up cooking another cup and a half on the side and adding it at the end. We did use brown rice instead. Will probably make again and add a little more to it, its good for throwing in a Tupperware and bringing to work.
