Ingredients

  1. cooking spray
  2. 6 tablespoons honey
  3. 6 tablespoons olive oil
  4. 2 cups dry bread crumbs
  5. 2 cups panko bread crumbs
  6. 2 (8 ounce) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Instructions

  1. Spray an air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  2. Mix honey and oil together in a bowl. Mix bread crumbs and panko together in another bowl.
  3. Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise so you have 4 thin cutlets. Dip cutlets into the honey mixture until completely coated, then dip into the bread crumb mixture.
  4. Place in the prepared air fryer basket. Spray the tops with cooking spray.
  5. Air-fry at 390 degrees F (199 degrees C) according to manufacturer’s instructions for 5 minutes. Flip and cook until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 7 more minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

First thing I ever made in the air fryer & it came out tasty. I think maybe it could have still been successful with less oil.

We added a little garlic powder and ginger powder to the oil and honey mixture. We used raw honey so to get the honey and oil to mix together we popped it in the microwave for about 30 seconds. The chicken turned out awesome.

It is impossible to mix the honey with the olive oil . . . Some pieces got coated with honey, others did not.

1.6.22 I used hot honey (such as Mike’s®) and expected a little kick. I did’t get that, but what I did get was delicious, juicy chicken breasts, packed with flavor. I did have quite a bit of bread crumbs left over, so I’ll cut that back in the future. Timing was spot on, and I wouldn’t hesitate to make this again (and with hot honey!). Thanks for sharing.
