Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli
- 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
- 1 (16 ounce) package potato gnocchi
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 (15 ounce) jar Alfredo sauce
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper, or more to taste
Instructions
- Place broccoli into a microwave-safe dish and microwave for 7 minutes.
- While the broccoli is cooking, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil over high heat.
- At the same time, heat a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir sausage in the hot skillet until browned, crumbly, and almost crunchy, about 10 minutes, scraping the bottom of the pan to incorporate any browned pieces using a metal spatula.
- Add gnocchi to the boiling water and cook until they float to the top, 2 to 4 minutes.
- While the gnocchi cooks, add butter, garlic, and Italian seasoning to the sausage in the skillet. Reduce the heat to medium; cook and stir for 1 minute. Stir in Alfredo sauce. Pour water into the sauce jar, shake, and pour into the skillet. Add Parmesan cheese. Stir in cooked broccoli and season with pepper.
- Scoop cooked gnocchi out of the cooking water and add to the skillet. Stir to combine with sausage and broccoli.

Very easy to make. Surprisingly flavorful. Family really enjoyed it
Used fresh broccoli that I blanched for 5 minutes, removed, then boiled the gnocchi in the same water. I wasn’t able to find gnocchi in my area so I had to make my own from this site, adding time to the overall dish but rewarding as a first-timer! I didn’t change anything else other than removing most of the sausage grease and using about half the butter called for. Very filling, yummy dish.
As another reviewer suggested, I used chopped spinach instead of broccoli. It was fantastic!
I loved this recipe. Not only was it easy to make, but it tasted really good too!
This was really good. I made a few substitutions to make it a little bit healthier: I used turkey sausage instead of pork, I skipped the butter, and I used cauliflower gnocchi. The Alfredo sauce does enough that I doubt I’d have noticed the difference.
Loved it.
It was a bit soupier than i was expecting, but overall i’m happy with the result!
Will try this in the next few days…all ingredients are family faves…sure to be a hit on one of those “busy day quick meals”!
Wouldn’t change a thing! Fabulous! However I steam broccoli 5 minutes. Dip in an ice bath then drain!
This was a quick and easy dinner. I did use gluten free gnocchi and broccoli florets instead of cuts. I had zero complaints and should have doubled the recipe.
I used spinach instead of broccoli and it is AMAZING.
