This is NOT the recipe Sandra used on her show…she used, ice shanken vanilla infused vodka, Chambord, and then poured Jagermeister over a spoon for her “Vampire Kiss martini”. Prior to the pour she rimmed the martini glass with a thick red reduced simple sugar syrup and garnished with wax teeth / a black licorice stick for swizzle stick!

We made this drink and tried to tweak it in every possible way. It tasted like cough syrup and we could not make it right. The only ones at my party that did like it were the ones who drink straight alcohol, like if you are a scotch drinker. The drink pretty much tasted like one nasty huge shot. I was really disappointed, I wanted to like this drink but just didn’t. Last year I made the Italian Fruit Punch that Giada has and that was a huge hit, way better than this one. I know Sanra said this drink was heavy on the alcohol, but I don’t think it was even that, it just didn’t taste good.

I put the red on the inside of the glass only, using a kid’s (new) paintbrush, so it still had the drippy effect without the sticky glass. Also, I thought it was a little sweet (maybe I used too much Chambord?) so I added about 1/2 tsp of lime juice. I left out the teeth – sitting in the bottom of the glass like that, they seemed more Granny-by-the-bedside than Dracula. An eyeball might be nice…

You need to tweek the amounts of alcohol you add in. Once you do that, they taste great! Also, instead of the fake blood, use pink or red decorating sugar to rim the glasses!!! And the teeth- my party guests loved them!!!

The olive in the martinis were attached to wax teeth and soon everyone was showing their teeth in smiling amusement. Sure got the party going!
