Ingredients
- 2 ounces fresh-squeezed Meyer lemon juice
- 1 ounce your favorite tequila
- 1 ounce triple sec
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/2 jalapeno, seeds removed, finely diced
- Ice
- 1 slice fresh lime, for garnish
- 1 teaspoon salt, for rim
Instructions
- Mix the lemon juice, tequila, triple sec, honey and diced jalapeno in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until very cold. Rub the lime slice around the rim of a glass and dip in salt to form a salt rim. Strain the drink into the glass.

We skipped the jalapeños and used Grand Marnier instead of Triple Sec. Totally awesome, with half the calories of a classic Jose Cuervo margarita. I have a hunch our Meyer lemon tree out back will be known as the Margarita Tree from now on … 🙂
I had one tonight. I used Milagro tequila, Patron Citronge Orange Liqueur and local honey.. This is a winner! The jalapeños give it a nice kick.
