The tasty, healthy, and ideal lunch or supper option is this sesame chicken salad.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 5 hrs 15 mins
Total Time: 5 hrs 30 mins
Servings: 6
Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  2. 1 medium onion, chopped
  3. 5 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 1 tablespoon chili powder
  5. ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  6. 1 ¼ cups steak sauce (such as Heinz 57®)
  7. ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  8. ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  9. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  10. 1 ¼ teaspoons liquid smoke
  11. 1 (3 pound) lean boneless pork tenderloin, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in garlic, chili powder, and pepper until blended; cook until garlic has softened, 3 to 4 minutes. Add steak sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke. Stir and bring to a light boil.
  2. Put pork tenderloin into a slow cooker and pour the sauce on top. Cook until the pork falls apart when touched with a fork, 5 to 6 hours on High or 10 to 12 hours on Low.
  3. Place pork on a plate and shred it using 2 forks. Put the pork back in the sauce until ready to serve.
  4. Crushed garlic in a jar works great as a replacement for fresh garlic.

Very tasty. Strongly recommend cooking on LOW 10-12 hours instead of on HIGH for a shorter time. That’s just the best way to cook a pork tenderloin to insure it coming out tender. Most of the prep is making the sauce but that’s very easy.

This is definitely not your ordinary “slow cooker pulled pork”. It’s sweet, spicy, smokey, tangy and oh so delicious!! All of the components really come together to make this recipe a standout, for sure! I made the recipe as is and wouldn’t change a thing! This is definitely a keeper! Thanks for a great recipe!
