The first thing I ever canned was blueberry jam, which is now a cherished preserve. This variation contains some fresh thyme, which adds a twist that goes well with both a PB&J and a cheese board.

Made the Salisbury steak for dinner tonight with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. Delicious meal. As with recommendations, added cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix, mushrooms and doubled the sauce (except the ketchup). It was very good, but might try the original recipe next time as the cream of mushroom soup drastically changed the recipe.
Made the patties the night before and then prepared them. I used red wine to deglaze the pan and used Lipton onion soup mix for the gravy. This was very easy, served with garlic mashed potatoes and sweet corn.
Surprisingly fresh. I swapped bottled Dijon mustard for dry mustard, and used the left over butter and milk in place of water. Both enriched the recipe, which was already excellent and tasty.
Absolutely a new favorite!!! I did tweak it as others mentioned with mushroom soup and doubled all of the condiments to give it lots of gravy. So delicious!
We make this a lot, we double it usually, we use a can of French onion and a beefy mushroom and it’s delicious. Stick to the ingredients. I do add white pepper and dried mustard to the mixing process to the meat, use beef broth instead of water.
We really love this recipe but can you freeze it
Easy and great flavor added a Lil extra mustard . It’s my new goto meal. I did use 100 % organic grass fed 85/15 ground beef. Has a wonderful flavor
This was the first time I’ve ever made salisbury steak. DELICIOUS!! I omitted the salt and used 1/2 cup beef broth instead of water to make more gravy. I sauteed some chopped onions after taking the meat out of the pan…second time making this in 2 weeks. I love it!!
We loved this recipe. After reading other comments, I didn’t add the ketchup or the salt. I added half a pack of onion soup mix. It was delicious. I ate a half portion although I usually avoid red meat. I will make this recipe again.
First time making Salisbury Steak and it turned out great. Based on other tips I found in reviews, I did add the onion soup packet and fresh mushrooms to the gravy. I will definitely make this again
Very good and easy to make. Love the onion based gravy. I need to try this again. I doubled the sauce but still could have used some more.
If you cook it correctly it is wonderful and relatively healthy. All these so called culinary experts and their processed food additives destroying themselves with chemicals.should get their skills down first using real ingredients.
Fantastic!!!!!!! I will be making these again & again. Wouldn’t change a thing.
Its so good, I make it many times. The gravy is excellent, I’ll use it for roast beef and other receipes.
I made this as written with 1 exception: I doubled the sauce ingredients cause I always love the gravy over mashed potatoes and there’s not enough gravy as written. It was SO good! I’ve made this many times! Thank you!!
Easy and delicious! Have made several times and will definitively make again!
Love this recipe! And so does the household! I sautéed some onions and mushrooms on the side then added those in for the 20 minute simmer at the end, superb
The flavor is exactly what we wanted for Salisbury steak. The recipe is easy and you most likely have the ingredients on hand. I omitted the ketchup, simply because it’s not the flavor I wanted. I added freshly chopped mushrooms to the patties and to the gravy. I will definitely make this again.
The only thing I added was Garlic because I love it oh n chopped onions amazing yummy thank u, followed recipe and it did not fall apart.
Amazing recipe. My family loves this! I added onion to the meat mixture and mushrooms to the sauce. Delicious!
Family Favorite!!
