The Cheesecake Factory’s banana cheesecake in Nashville was the greatest we’ve ever tasted, according to my family and I. I was determined to recreate it when I got home. This recipe I developed tastes almost exactly like the original. If desired, add more fresh banana slices as a garnish.

No way. Philly Cheese Steaks are made with rib steaks.
While this is a tasty recipe it is not a Philly Cheesesteak.
I used all the seasonings on the recipe, but the veggies I used green peppers, white onion, and a red onion. Instead of chez whiz and provolone, I used swiss and mozzarella cheese sticks and diced them up and added to the steak, onions and peppers. And for us budget minded and rib eye steak is not an option. I used flank steak cut into strips, mixed the seasonings in and let sit in fridge to tenderize the meat. Came out really good. I also used hamburger buns to cut carbs.
The seasoning is wonderful! I just used rib eye steak sliced thinly only different is I served it on grilled ciabatta(sp) bread with sauteed peppers and onions.. and Swiss cheese.. Yummy!
Delicious!
Turned out great the first time. The store had shaved beef specifically for Philly Cheese Steak, so I used that. It cooked quickly and made it a lot easier. Family loved it and had no complaints or suggested changes.
I’ve never been to Philadelphia, I was just in search of a well seasoned steak sandwich and this recipe definitely fit the bill! I didn’t change a thing in the recipe, I did however let the meat sit in the seasoning mixture overnight. Delicious and I will definitely be using this recipe from now on.
Loved the spice mix! The key is to thinly slice the meat and fry long enough to start caramelization of the spice/meat mix. Added mushrooms and used provolone cheese instead of swiss and it was excellent! Also topped the sandwich with some candied jalapenos (cowboy candy) for added spice. Will definitely make this again! Thanks for the recipe!
This was great! I did sub the Swiss cheese for provolone however, and I sautéd my veggies 1st then added the meat to sauté together. I also used the really thin steak that’s purposed to make cheese steaks. My husband raved about it!
So good! We used provolone, of course. Also, added oregano, ground bay leaf, and white pepper. Our meat could have been more thinly sliced, but the flavor was incredible! We had sauteed mushrooms on the side for whoever wanted some.
Very good! My wife liked it as well. Quick and easy to make.
First this was a good recipe I used provolone and gotta have some cheese wiz if your gonna have a provy
Loved it!! What great flavor it had!
This is a pretty good recipe. It’s easy to make and pretty tasty. We made it to the recipe, but I will probably try some changes to it, in the future.
Although it made some tasty steak sandwiches, they did not taste like a true Philly cheese steak. If the recipe title was not misleading, would of given it 4 stars.
Substituted basil with parsley. Husband thought the chilli powder was overpowering. I thought the sandwich was a little dry. But it was really tasty. Will definitely try again and maybe tweak it a little to make it Saucier. ??????
I used leftover medium-rare steak, sliced very thinly and cut into bite sized pieces. I also used roasted capsicum (red peppers) from a jar, as I didn’t have any fresh. Really great flavour! Served on tortilla wraps, which is melted slices of cheese onto in the microwave, and topped with garlic aioli. Whole family loved it.
I used all of the stated ingredients except the steak. I found it much easier to go to the local deli and get a package of sliced roast beef. It’s much easier to heat and place on the hoagie.
Broiled the buns before adding meat and also after with meat , onions, green peppers and mushrooms.
Added fresh mushrooms to the sauté and a splash of Worcestershire…Oh My!
It was quick and easy and most of all delicious!
