Ingredients
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 6 chicken breast tenderloins
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon half-and-half
- 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- ½ cup panko bread crumbs
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh flat-leaf parsley
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 quarts water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 6 ounces angel hair pasta
- 1 ½ cups prepared marinara sauce, divided
- 3 ounces shredded Italian cheese blend
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Combine flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a resealable plastic bag. Place chicken tenderloins into flour mixture, seal the bag, and shake to coat.
- Beat egg and half-and-half thoroughly in a shallow bowl. Mix seasoned break crumbs, panko crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and parsley in another bowl. Dip floured chicken tenderloins into beaten egg, let excess egg drip off, then press chicken into crumb mixture to coat. Let chicken stand for 10 minutes to set coating.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; cook chicken tenderloins until the juices run clear, chicken is no longer pink inside, and coating is golden brown, about 5 minutes per side.
- Bring water and 1 tablespoon salt to a boil in a large pot; stir angel hair pasta into boiling water. Cook pasta, stirring occasionally, until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Drain.
- Pour 3/4 cup marinara sauce into prepared baking dish; top sauce with cooked angel hair pasta. Pour remaining 3/4 cup sauce over pasta and arrange chicken tenderloins over sauce. Sprinkle Italian cheese blend over chicken.
- Bake in the preheated oven until cheese topping is melted and bubbling, about 10 minutes.
- Serve with a tossed salad and crusty rolls, garlic toast or bread sticks. My preferred storebought sauce is Kroger(R) brand Napolitana sauce.

Great recipe second time around, just used milk in the egg as no cream or halfnhalf. Phil in New Zealand
It was good. My husband who is not a big pasta guy was really impressed. Made no changes this first time.
I think I coulda used some more salt. It was still pretty decent. My daughter’s boyfriend ate about three servings so it wasn’t too bad!Ha!
This was incredibly tender and delicious. I used a local restaurant brand of Marinara sauce (Tony’s) and other than that the only thing I did different was coat the chicken in a little sauce before baking and used Mozzarella and Provolone cheese since that is what we had on hand. I’ll definitely be following these breading instructions in the future! Thank you!
I used Gluten Free Panko Style Bread Crumbs (Kinnikinnick); and Gluten Free Seasoned Flour (Kentucky Kernel), corn flakes crumbs (Kellogg’s) and Zesty Italian Salad Dressing Mix (Good Seasons) in lieu of seasoned bread crumbs. It’s the first time I’ve made it and I let the chicken get a little dark brown when frying (black in some areas) but the flavor was great, there was a crunch in the crust and the chicken was cooked and juicy. It was really good, if not perfect.
I have my own way I prefer to make chicken parm as I’m sure most people do. I used this recipe mainly to try out the breading for the chicken, and it was amazing! so tasty and full of flavor! I have faith the rest of the recipe is amazing as well! highly recommend.
Very good. I made it as written but topped with an entire shredded block of Mozarella.
I made this following the exact method although I did substitute what I had on hand and my preferences (don’t like angel hair pasta and had some home made sauce and another jarred sauce). The chicken crisped up beautifully and I thought it would get soggy after putting it on top of the sauced pasta and with the cheese but it didn’t and was delicious! I will definitely make this again! Would be great for an easy but elegant company dinner!
I went by the directions with the exception of my homemade marinara which probably is thinner than commercial pasta sauce. I added cilantro as a garnish. This recipe gives you lots of room to tweek it ?? Serve it with your favorite bread topped with garlic, parmesan infused butter. YUM
This was a great meal! I made it for my boyfriend’s bday, and he loved it! Thanks for the recipe!
Taste good. As good as Olive Garden Chicken Marinara
This is a recipe we turn to often. This recipe doesn’t have too much sauce, as I feel a lot of recipes do. The chicken is always moist and flavorful.
We loved it!!! Instead of breading and frying the chicken tenders, I grilled them. I eliminated the flour, eggs, half and half, and bread crumbs but used the seasoning. My 7 year old finished his plate!!
I made this for the first time, left the recipe as is, no changes, and it was DELICIOUS! My boyfriend loved it as well and I can’t wait to make it again. Thanks for the recipe!
I made this the other day for me and my boyfriend’s anniversary. I followed this recipe exactly and it turned out amazing! Better than any parmesan chicken I’ve ever had in a restaurant. And it was pretty easy to make. He even took some of the leftovers to work and in the three years we’ve lived together he’s never once eaten leftovers. This recipe really helped make the night special and I will definitely be making it again! Thanks so much for sharing it!
Amazing recipe. My friend said it tasted like Olive Garden!!
We love it, it’s so ease your children made it
It was a lot of work because I made marina sauce from scratches, but the finished dish was delicious!
Very good recipe. I didn’t add the panko crumbs in the chicken breading. I also didn’t use angel hair. I was short on time so I used penne pasta, but didn’t bake.
Delicious thanks!
This recipe was the best chicken parm I’ve ever made. The chicken was ridiculously tender! Only thing I didn’t do was put the pasta in the oven, I just put the chicken in the oven and then put it on top of the pasta later. Definitely recommend!!
