This unique pumpkin casserole is really simple to make and pairs well with the main course. Enjoy!

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 40 mins
Total Time: 55 mins
Servings: 12
Yield: 12 sliders

Ingredients

  1. ½ cup prepared horseradish
  2. 1 (12 count) package Hawaiian bread rolls, split
  3. 12 slices deli roast beef
  4. 12 slices deli-sliced Swiss cheese
  5. ½ cup butter
  6. 1 onion, finely chopped
  7. 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  8. 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
  9. 1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  10. 1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
  11. 2 teaspoons poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread horseradish on the bottoms of the Hawaiian bread rolls. Top each with 1 slice roast beef and 1 slice Swiss cheese, then cover with top bread rolls. Place sandwiches in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir onion, brown sugar, spicy mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder in butter until onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Pour over sandwiches and sprinkle rolls with poppy seeds. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until heated through, about 25 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking until tops are lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
  5. If preparing the sandwiches in advance, store the covered baking dish with sandwiches in the refrigerator for 3 to 12 hours until you’re ready to bake them.

We loved this! Couldn’t find the slider sized rolls so used full size…fit right in the dish as perfectly as the 12 smaller rolls. Reheated the leftovers in the oven 2 days later…perfection! Thank you!

My husband is obsessed with this. I follow the recipe as is, but I only make half of the butter topping and find it’s more than enough. I sprinkle everything bagel seasoning on the top. Huge hit in my house!

It turned out fine! I think next time I’ll half the sauce and layer pan with parchment paper. I used “everything” spice mixture to finish.

A big hit for our family! Followed pretty much exactly. Will be saving this to do it again.

Turned out really good! Everyone in my house loved them. Instead of Swiss and roast beef on all of them I used turkey and provolone on some and roast beef and Muenster/provolone on some others. Also the Hawaiian sub rolls worked well too to make bigger sandwiches

This was a great recipe! It was easy and I mostly excited because I happened to have everything without shopping. Guests loved it! I did brown the beef quickly in a pan before putting it together. I was not sure it would cook enough because my roast beef was quite rare. Delicious!

I enjoyed making them because they are quick, easy and very tasty. My granddaughter loved them too and has asked for them for her Halloween party.

I opted for mayo on the bottom buns and kept the horseradish as a side condiment. Paired with a pineapple coleslaw, it made a simple but filling dinner. These mini sandwiches would also make a fabulous party food!

I didn’t make any changes…will make them again! Fantastic and delicious.

Really good and easy sandwiches. The glaze makes them extra tasty. I cut up a block of Swiss cheese, so my sandwiches were extra cheesy.

Oh, my gosh, huge hit! Everyone love this! It was so easy to make and dinner was ready quickly.

Huge hit with the family! I didn’t have Hawaiian rolls, but dinner rolls worked great as well! Great weeknight meal!

These were delicious! I would use a tad bit less of brown sugar next time. I only made a half batch as there are only a couple of us to eat them but they went over well and I will certainly make them again.

We LOVED these! I do agree with SLN that the onion should be reduced (which I did). Sooooo good~YUM! Thanks for sharing.:)

The key to success in this one is to use quality beef and quality cheese. I will use better beef next time. With that being said, this is good. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because the onion overpowered. I recommend cutting back on the onion. I like onion a lot but it should never compete with beef.
