You’ll look for something to do with a loquat tree if you have one in your backyard or know someone who does. This is a fantastic tart and spicy way to use up those loquats that seem to be inexhaustible. Pork might also work well with this loquat dish. Loquats are definitely a fruit of the season. The only time of year you can locate them is from late spring to early summer. It goes incredibly nicely with rice.

I used frozen corn instead of canned corn, and I only had half a bag (5 oz). It was plenty. I also added one chopped tomato. It made a lot more than I thought it would, so the two of us will be eating this for 2 nights, and possibly three. I recommend cutting this recipe in half if it’s only for two people. Very tasty!
My husband gobbled it up! Great dish for a cooler night.
I made for my grand kids and family. It was a hit!!!
This was a great base recipe. It is really not fair to change the recipe and then say what is good about this recipe. I am sure it is great as written. I didn’t have these items so I substituted marinara sauce for the tomato sauce, mushrooms for the corn, parmigiano/mozzarella for the American cheese, but sprinkled on before serving and let the cheese slowly melt. I used garlic powder and onion flakes. My changes made it a 5 star dish for us.
Excellent Recipe! I made it exactly as written and it turned out great. Me and the hubby both liked it.
It’s really good my only suggestions for anyone who might make this is to use a little less dried minced onion. I also personally mixed the cheese in so the cheese was more than just on the top. Other than that it was super simple and fast to make and I definitely recommend!
This was simply so easy to make and good. I cooked the noodles in the soup, added a little water, didn’t drain the corn. So it was a one pan meal. Doubled it, only had 3 cans of soup, so added one can of tomatoes with green chilies, American cheese, pepper jack and a little cheddar on top. Excellent…. my boys really liked it. Thanks for such a quick, easy, filling meal.
I skipped the corn and swapped the tomato soup with diced tomatoes and Prego traditional spaghetti sauce. Added American and cheddar cheese. Used freshly diced onions. Added Lawry’s seasoning salt.
I skipped the corn and added canned roasted diced tomatoes, diced fresh onion, American and cheddar cheese, and Prego traditional spaghetti sauce instead of tomato soup. I added Lawry’s seasoning salt to the seasonings list! Turned out deeee-lish! (I followed the other ingredients.)
Great, simple, stuff already in cupboard recipe
Bland. Use this as a base only.
Made it as written except I didn’t have tomato soup so I used tomato juice. Very good! Will definitely make again!
It was absolutely delicious! I was low on pantry supplies so substituted I can of tomato sauce and can of seasoned diced tomatoes in place of the soup. I couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. Hubby gobbled up the leftovers the next day. Will definitely be making this again soon!
Absolutely Amaaaaaazing. My wife grew up eating this & can’t Stand it, but with This recipe, she Tore It Up! I did stray from the original recipe by doubling everything, (family of 4 & I like having leftovers, lol). I used 2lbs hamburger meat, 1 large can of corn, (cooked separately & then added at the end). 2 15oz cans of diced tomatoes & 1 29oz can of tomato Sauce. I took the advice of others & used different cheese. I added Mozzarella & cheddar, (Lots of it). I forgot the onion as others mentioned, Soo I used onion powder. Instead of using minced garlic I used garlic powder. (I find that fresh minced garlic is Always overpowers the food.) It was Soo easy to make & very quick
Super good and easy!
I used Banza Cavatappi pasta made from Chickpeas and sprinkled it with cheddar cheese. My picky eater loved it.
This was very easy, delicious and quick to make!! Thank you for sharing! Made my dinner preparation a breeze!!
I made as written, it was very quick, easy and tasty. I don’t care for the corn, so I’ll omit next time
I used moose meat and cheddar cheese. And it was fabulous!
Delicious and easy to make
FINALLY FOUND IT!!! My mom made this when I was a kid….A LOT. So much that out of 5 kids only 2 will eat goulash and I am not one of them BUT I knew that my family would love it. After making it, I now know why she made it so much…..easy, cheap and super fast dinner. Thanks so much!!!!
