This yogurt cake is simple to make because all the ingredients are measured in the yogurt bottle. The ideal not-too-sweet snack or breakfast treat, it can be made in less than an hour. It is commonly the first cake that French youngsters learn how to make and is referred to as “Gâteau au Yaourt” in France. This was created by my kid and his classmates, who go to a French school.

Ingredients
- heavy-duty aluminum foil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- ½ cup plain bread crumbs
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning mix
- 2 baking potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup salsa
- ½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese, or to taste
Instructions
- Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate. Cut four 12×18-inch sheets of aluminum foil.
- Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, and taco seasoning mix together in a medium bowl until well blended. Shape into four 4-inch patties. Mix potatoes and salsa in another medium bowl.
- Place 1 patty onto each piece of foil and top with 1/4 of the potato mixture and 1/4 of the Cheddar cheese. Wrap each packet securely using double-fold seals, allowing room for heat expansion.
- Place packets, seam-side up, on the preheated grill. Cover the grill and cook, rearranging the packets several times, until patties are cooked through and potatoes are tender, about 25 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (71 degrees C).

Made with chicken as I didn’t have hamburger. Delicious! Thank you for a great recipe!
This was excellent! I did use the entire packet of taco seasoning but that is the only change I made. The cook time on these is spot on. These turned out much better than I originally anticipated and this is something I will make again. This would be a great recipe to use while camping.
