Ingredients

  1. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  2. 1 pound beef top sirloin, thinly sliced
  3. 1 tablespoon shawarma seasoning
  4. 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  5. ½ teaspoon salt
  6. ½ cup tahini
  7. 3 tablespoons plain yogurt
  8. ½ lemon, juiced
  9. ½ teaspoon salt
  10. 1 (10 ounce) package large flour tortillas
  11. 2 tomatoes, halved and sliced
  12. 1 onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add beef, shawarma seasoning, allspice, and 1/2 teaspoon salt; cook, turning occasionally, until beef is browned and tender, 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Whisk tahini, yogurt, lemon juice, and 1/2 teaspoon salt together in a small bowl until creamy.
  3. Spread 1 to 2 tablespoons tahini sauce in the center of each tortilla. Divide beef slices, tomato slices, and onion slices evenly among tortillas. Roll up tortillas.
  4. Preheat a panini press according to manufacturer’s instructions. Press rolled tortillas seam side-down until grill marks appear, about 2 minutes. Cut each tortilla into 4 to 5 pieces.

The seasoning was perfect! This made a really nice change for dinner.

Made as written and this turned out pretty good. The sauce was bland though and needed more salt and something else but I can’t quite put my finger on what that would be. I ended up adding Sriracha and that definitely gave it some kick. Overall good recipe and easy to make, I just think the sauce needs some tweaking.
