Compared to actual stuffed peppers, this unstuffed pepper pan is significantly simpler to make but still delicious. a fantastic and incredibly gratifying dinner.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Chill Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Servings: 12
Yield: 12 pizza rolls

Ingredients

  1. 1 (13.8 ounce) package Pillsbury® classic pizza crust
  2. 1 cup marinara sauce, divided
  3. ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  4. ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  5. ½ cup thinly sliced pepperoni, cut in halves
  6. 2 tablespoons minced onion (Optional)
  7. ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  8. ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  9. ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Place pizza dough on a lightly floured work surface, and press into a rectangle. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the dough to within 1/2 inch of the crust edges (you will not need all of the sauce), and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  2. Evenly distribute pepperoni and onion over the cheeses, and sprinkle with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Tightly roll up the dough to form a log, pinching the seam together to seal. Transfer dough to the refrigerator for 10 minutes to make slicing easier.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Using a serrated knife, slice the log into 12 individual rolls and set onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until pizza rolls are golden brown in color and the cheese has melted, 10 to 12 minutes.
  7. Serve pizza rolls with the remaining warmed marinara as a dipping sauce.
  8. If you prefer, feel free to substitute the marinara with your favorite pizza sauce, either homemade or in a jar from the supermarket.

Yummy. Like a pizza in a bite-size piece. Less calories with most of the same satisfaction.

My husband loved these and couldn’t get enough but I….not my favorite. I refrigerated for almost 25 min and dough was still sticky and only some of them kept their shape. Picture is the prettiest ones – but not all turned out pretty. Fun idea and glad we tried!

My family thought it was good, easy to assemble. Only problem was the parchment paper stuck to the bottom to the pizza rolls. Next time I will just spray the pan.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner tonight. I used pizza sauce instead of marinara. The spices were perfect, especially the crushed red pepper. Just enough to taste but not overwhelming. Sure, making regular pizza would be easier, but these roll-ups were fun and different!

My husband and I liked the seasonings in the pizza rolls. I know my husband liked them because he ate four pizza rolls. I refrigerated the roll for 10 minutes, but I think I will refrigerate for 20 minutes because it was hard to cut. I used a serrated knife, but a bit more time might help. I live at high altitude and I think I needed to let the rolls rise a bit more after cutting them. I will try that next time. This recipe would be a great party recipe.

10-5-22 Made homemade pizza sauce. These were just okay, really depends on the sauce you use I think.
