  4.4 – 129 reviews  • Dinner

The cheesy sauce in this Campbell’s chicken and broccoli casserole comes together quickly. Serve heated biscuits or noodles along with the finished baking.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins
Total Time: 40 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 1 2-quart casserole

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound fresh broccoli, cut into spears
  2. 1 ½ cups cubed cooked chicken or turkey
  3. 1 (10.5 ounce) can Campbell’s Condensed Broccoli Cheese Soup or Campbell’s Condensed 98% Fat Free Broccoli Cheese Soup
  4. ⅓ cup milk
  5. ½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  6. 2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs
  7. 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
  2. Arrange broccoli and cooked chicken in a 2-quart shallow baking dish or 9-inch pie plate. Stir together condensed soup and milk in a medium bowl until combined, then pour over all. Sprinkle with cheese. Mix together bread crumbs and melted butter in a small bowl; sprinkle on top.
  3. Bake casserole in the preheated oven until hot, about 25 minutes.
  4. You can use one (10.5-ounce) can Campbell’s Cream of Chicken or 98% Fat-Free Cream of Chicken soup instead of Broccoli Cheese soup.
  5. To make 1 1/2 cups cubed cooked chicken: Fill a medium saucepan with 4 cups water; bring to a boil. Cook 3/4 pound skinless, boneless chicken breasts (cubed) in boiling water until no longer pink and the juices run clear, about 5 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  6. You can broil casserole after baking to lightly brown the topping, about 1 minute.

Came out pretty yummy. I knew raw broccoli would not work so I streamed it with a half a red pepper cause I like color and flavor. Chopped both up and spread in greased glass pie plate. I also sliced up some fresh mushroom because I had one the layered on top. Use the breast-meat from the rotisserie chicken from Sam’s. Used Campbell Healthy Request Cheese Soup so it’s not salty. And sprinkled Mozzarella on top cause it’s what I had.

I liked it but it needed a little oomph. I added a few drops of hot sauce and diced tomato/ great, easy dinner option.

Delicious! I made it for a 12 person house dinner and everyone loved it. I used frozen broccoli and served it over orzo which turned out wonderfully.

I basically doubled the recipe for a 9×13. I used closer to 3/4c milk since so many said it needed the extra soup. I cooked two 12oz steamable bags of broccoli for it and added salt and pepper. The dish turned out amazing and perfect! I really like the taste the bread crumbs add so will be using more like 6-8 Tbsp worth next time.

I made this needing to use up some pre cooked shredded chicken. I mixed the chicken with a pre cooked microwavable broccoli steam in the bag. I seasoned it with a garlic, salt and peppet mix and also green chili season. Mixed the soup with half n half cause I didn’t have milk. Topped it with mex cheese blend, a little garlic seasoned bread crumbs and crushed fried jalapeño salad topping. Baked 10min at 400 deg. After cooking i realized it needed something else so i microwaved a pack of chicken flavored rice and poured it on top. My husband said it tasted like crack.

I’ve made this SO many times when we want a creamy cheesy meal. Comes out great every time! Sometimes I add rice to the mix. You can use any of the Campbell’s cream of broccoli, cheese, chicken or mushroom soups. I pan fry seasoned cubed chicken breast and throw on top of frozen broccoli florets then top with soup mixture, cheese and bread crumb mixture.

One of my favorites and my family’s too! Even those that don’t care for broccoli will eat this.

Love chicken divan and I hate to gild the lily in a great recipe but here I am doing it. I hate Mayo/sour cream so I use unflavored yogurt instead. I do not add milk. Instead I add two cans of cream of chicken soup and a tablespoon of lemon juice. I’m a cheddar cheese addict, so I add 1/2 cup of it into the soup mixture and 1/2 to the top. Corn flake crumbs are my preference over bread crumbs.

Made this for dinner last night and it was just ok. We followed the directions but used canned cubbed chicken since we were short on time. Not a whole lot of flavor. We will try this again with some adjustments. I’ll definitely be cooking the chicken and broccoli beforehand. Our broccoli was a little crunchy and I wasn’t a fan. I’ll also add some sautéed onions, garlic, and chopped bacon. I might try using chicken bone broth instead of milk.

I made a few changes, mainly because of what I had on hand. Used Cream of Chicken soup, leftover turkey from Thanksgiving and instead of bread crumbs I used crushed Ritz crackers. Then I added bacon! I cooked up 3 slices of bacon and crumbled them on top prior to baking it. It was delicious and easy!

Pretty good, pretty good. Without par boiling the broccoli it is very crunchy, so note that. I first mixed soup and milk in a large bowl then added the diced chicken and broccoli. I used two cans of broccoli cheese soup. I also added a small handful of cheese to the mix. Poured all into a pie plate than topped with more cheese and panko breadcrumbs with butter.

I’ve made this recipe many times and love it. You can sub in different veggies and different cream soups (I like mushroom), Add a few spices, and it turns out great every time.

Pretty easy and basic. I used boiled chicken thighs and added garlic. Recipe needs salt and pepper. I also added Parmesan cheese. All in all it was good. With a couple tweaks you can make it an excellent quick meal!

I found this dish to be rather bland but I did like the consistency. Once I figure out how to flavor this I think it will be a winner.

Love this!! My husband loves this too. I use heavy cream rather than milk!

The only thing I changed was to add a bit more cheese and some leftover French fried onions I had. It was so easy and very good. I season my chicken with a garlic based seasoning to add flavor. I think it would have been too bland without that.

Not great, I would have partially precooked the broccoli, plus the sauce was bland and uninspiring. Definitely needed some sherry or something to make the sauce more complex. I wouldn’t recommend as presented.

I used closer to 3 cups of chicken and added 2 packages of Rice a Roni broccoli and cheese flavor (already made) and an extra 1/3 cup milk. I used frozen broccoli and just mixed it in still frozen. I also used French’s fried onions instead of bread crumbs cause that’s all I had. Tunred out very good. Will make again.

Absolutey love all things broccoli cheddar, so this was a win even before I started. Only thing I changed up was substituting crispy fried onions on the top because we were out of breadcrumbs. Tasted delicious!

I make this with left over chicken or turkey. Sometimes I add chopped mushrooms also. This is a great meal! I serve over rice, noodles or stuffing.
