Broiled Salisbury Steaks

  4.8 – 7 reviews  • Salisbury Steak Recipes

These Salisbury steaks are delicious and really tender. Nothing like the frozen food and shoe leather offered in cafeterias. With a Belmont sauce, these steaks taste fantastic.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 25 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound extra-lean ground beef
  2. 2 tablespoons minced onion
  3. 2 tablespoons minced green bell pepper
  4. 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
  5. 1 teaspoon salt
  6. 1 teaspoon paprika
  7. 1 clove garlic, minced
  8. ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  9. ¼ pinch dried thyme leaves
  10. all-purpose flour, or as needed
  11. 1 tablespoon oil, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Set oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven’s broiler. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Mix ground beef, onion, green bell pepper, parsley, salt, paprika, garlic, black pepper, and thyme together in a bowl; divide into 4 portions and shape into patties. Arrange patties on the prepared baking sheet. Dust both sides of patties with flour and brush with oil.
  3. Broil in the preheated oven until steaks are cooked through, 4 to 8 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
  4. Substitute 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder for the fresh, if desired.

Top to bottom great recipe. The flour and broiling make ’em! I served with mushroom gravy I made with packet brown and some sauteed mushrooms. Boxed mashed potatoes and canned green beans, and we were in comfort food heaven!

These were very good. Based on other reviews I also used smoked paprika. I didn’t have a green pepper so used red instead. I also added at least twice as much of the minced peppers and onions, because those are my favorites. Will make again.

Whole family (2 adults, 11 year old/4 year old) loved this recipe, it was quick and very easy. Broiling gave a superb flavor. I made a brown mushroom gravy and spooned that over them once they were plated at the table. I will definitely be making this again!

Absolutely FANTASTIC! I used Smoky Spanish Paprika, which gave off a lovely bacon aroma and taste. I did 5 minutes on the first side and 8 minutes on the second side. I paired it with my own recipe of mushrooms in a red wine and pear balsamic reduction. Added some garlic herbed mashed potatoes and everyone was in heaven! Thanks for a fabulous dish!
