- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

My family loved it. Very easy to put together.
time to cook was way too long in my oven so it got too crispy, other than that, amazing
It was good however I’m not a big fan of chicken and BBQ on pizza. My son loved and it was the first time I attempted calzone.
The taste was great, easy to make and pretty quick. I just had the pizza crust a bit to thick and i dont like the taste of cilantro so i left that out.
This was simple and delicious. My kids loved it. I made as recipe states. Next time I will use Pillsbury crescents in hopes the crust will be a little lighter.
who knew it could be so easy to make tasty calzones? I used rotisserie chicken breast from Costco. Both picky husband and I liked them a lot, and he’s not a big BBQ fan. Will definitely make this again as written and will try different combinations. Thanks for the recipe!
This is super easy to make and pretty good. It depends on what BBQ sauce you use. It also needs more cheese. Thanks.
Easy and delicious. I made mine into 4 smaller calzones instead of two big ones – but then we each at two because they were so delicious! My only complaint is that I should have drained a little of the bacon grease off – the extra grease made it a little hard to get the dough to stick together.
Excellent easy recipe! I used ready made pizza crust in the tube and was able to make 4 nice size calzones! Used bottled barbeque sauce with lots of cheese. Going to try using my homemade pizza dough next.
Quite good. Quick and easy recipe which gets my vote every time when you have hungry guys clamoring to be fed! I upped the barbeque sauce and substituted caramelized onions as that’s all I had on hand. Very similar to Texas Chicken Quesadillas also on this site. Thanks so much Tummy13.
Great recipe, thanks. Added some mushrooms and garlic to it, delicious. Thanks again.
Too good! I love this, and have made it over and over. Definitely stretch/roll your dough on the baking sheet that is going in the oven.
Great!
Delicious!! I made smaller “hand-held” calzones to serve, and they were great. I accidentally forgot to include cheese in half of them (OOPS!!) but they still turned out fantastic. Super simple, tasty recipe.
Simple to make and great flavor. Everyone in our family loved it! I added garlic as I do to about every dish. I saw one review where they used crescent rolls instead of pizza dough. I think I will try those as well just because we really like the crust from them. Thank you for a great recipe!
Kids actually ate this without complaint. Used pillsbury thin pizza crust, which turned brown fast therefore decrease time. And maybe try putting some butter on it towards the end next time. Didn’t use the cilantro, but it would be great for Craig and me. -start at 10 minutes less time and check on it
Very good, I did brush with olive oil & sprinkled with some herbs with about 5 minutes left of cooking.
ummm conventional
I made this tonight for dinner. It was good, but dry and not as flavorful (shockingly) as I had hoped. 25 minutes almost burned the calzones. In the future, I will add more BBQ sauce and bacon. The crust (Pillsbury pizza dough) wasn’t great either, so I’ll go with another brand. First attempts aren’t always great, but I would definitely make this again with a few alterations.
Tasty! Reminded me of Mellow Mushroom’s Funky Q Chicken or California Pizza Kitchen’s BBQ Chicken Pizza — yum! A little labor intensive, but YUM!!! Will make again!
Very good! I didn’t separate the BBQ sauce, just mixing all in at once, but don’t know why that would change anything. Thanks for the recipe, we’ll have this again soon!
