Ingredients

  1. 2 onions, sliced
  2. 2 1/2 pounds beef brisket, trimmed
  3. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  4. One 1-ounce packet powdered onion soup mix
  5. 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  6. 1 cup mayonnaise
  7. 3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
  8. 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  9. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  10. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  11. 12 potato buns, split

Instructions

  1. For the brisket: Add half of the sliced onions to a slow cooker. Sprinkle the brisket on one side with salt and pepper and add to the slow cooker, seasoned-side down. Sprinkle the other side with salt and pepper. Top with the remaining onions and the soup mix and Worcestershire.
  2. Cover and cook on high for 6 hours. Let the brisket sit in the onion juices on warm for 30 minutes, or until ready to serve.
  3. For the white barbecue sauce: Whisk together the mayonnaise, vinegar, hot sauce, garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a generous amount of pepper. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. To assemble: Cut the brisket in half and slice thinly against the grain. Top the potato buns with brisket, onions and barbecue sauce.

Delicious. I added some chopped garlic and a sprinkle of brown sugar.(2 TBL spoons) I also put swiss cheese and melted it. Just a few changes to make it my own.

Super simple and delicious…my husband was reluctant (he doesn’t like onions) of course I do… the flavor was outstanding, and also made the potato salad… a big hit!

Super easy to make! Mine didn’t stay in nice slices but it still tasted outstanding. I can’t handle hot spice so next time I think I’d cut the hot sauce in half but it was still tasty this way around!
