Air Fryer Spareribs

  4.5 – 28 reviews
We used an air fryer to turn spareribs into a quick and easy weeknight dinner. Separating the ribs helps them to fit in the fryer, cook quickly and get an even, golden crust all over. Make sure you dip them in the warm barbeque sauce immediately after they are done cooking––they’ll absorb more flavor while still hot.
Level: Easy
Total: 1 hr
Active: 20 min
Yield: 2 to 3 servings

Ingredients

  1. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  2. 3 teaspoons paprika
  3. 1 full rack St. Louis-style pork ribs, separated (2 1/2 to 3 pounds)
  4. 2 cups ketchup
  5. 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  6. 1/3 cup distilled white vinegar
  7. 1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
  8. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  9. 1 to 2 teaspoons hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Whisk together 1 tablespoon salt, 2 tablespoons pepper and 1 teaspoon of the paprika in a large bowl until well combined. Add the ribs and toss to coat, pressing the seasoning into each rib.
  2. Preheat a 3.5-quart air fryer to 350 degrees F. Transfer the ribs to the fryer basket and cook until the ribs are tender and golden brown, about 40 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, combine the ketchup, cider vinegar, white vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire, hot sauce, 2 teaspoons salt, 2 teaspoons pepper, 3/4 cup water and the remaining 2 teaspoons paprika in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar is melted and the sauce is warmed through, about 2 minutes. Cover and keep warm over low heat.
  4. Once the ribs are cooked, dip each one into the sauce, letting any excess run off. Serve with the remaining sauce on the side.

They were great my kids love them

The ribs came out tender and juicy, but in our opinion, way too peppered. If I make them again, I’ll only do 1 Tbsp pepper in the rub vs two. Thanks though! Very easy. And i DIDNT make any tater tots 😉

I didn’t use the sauce with the recipe, but the ribs turned out juicy and tender! The ribs don’t need the sauce in my opinion.

These came out perfectly. My airfryer is small but 25-30 mins worked for me. Meat stayed juicy, the fatty parts melted in our mouths. I didn’t make the sauce but the ribs didn’t need any in my opinion

I actually didn’t want to rate this because I only cooked tater tots and they were awesome. I cooked them in the rotisserie basket. The second time I cooked tater rounds and they just crumbled and I threw them out. I retried with one of the baskets and filled it expecting that to not work because they were on top of one another. I was real happy to find they all came out crisp and I can’t wait until I use it  for something else. So far I’m very happy with it, but as I said earlier I didn’t really use it enough to rate this.
