Ingredients

  1. 4 cups fresh lemon juice
  2. 3 cups sugar
  3. 1 bag frozen raspberries
  4. Ice cubes, for serving

Instructions

  1. Squeeze the lemons and pour the juice into a pitcher. Mix together the sugar with 3 cups water and stir to dissolve to make a syrup. Add the syrup to the lemon juice and top it up with 8 cups water. Taste to make sure it’s sweet enough for you, and then add the raspberries. Mix the lemonade together and let chill in the fridge. (Keep in mind that the raspberries are tart, so be sure to sweeten enough!)
  2. Fill mason jars with ice cubes and top them off with the lemonade.

I used ‘Realemon Concentrate – normal strength’ instead of fresh lemons to save time and money and the drink still came out superb tasting!  I cannot wait to haul this yummy berry lemonade to our relative’s home for Memorial Day picnicking.  Thanks Ms. Ree!

I made this lemonade about 10 times this summer. Everyone loved it. Its easy and perfect for making a day ahead to let the frozen raspberries really infuse. Not too tart and not too sweet!

Most good lemonaid recipes call for making a simple syrup and this one does not. If you don’t first make the syrup over the stovetop, the sugar will separate and accumulate on the bottom of the pitcher. I recommend heating the 3 cups water and 3 cups sugar till the sugar disolves first. You need to refrigerate the syrup to cool it becfore you make the lemonaid. Lastly, add the lemon juice and the residual water and about 1/2 the syrup to a pitcher and taste the lemonaid. Add more syrup as needed to get your preferred sweetness.

Very refreshing with a hint of tartness and sweetness- it’s a great way to cool off on a hot summer day. I tried this out with a big group and it turned out to be a HUGE hit… I totally recommend this to everyone.
