Very easy, my kids now know how to make their own basic tomato sauce.
This tasted incredible and it was so easy! So fresh and tasty.
4 basil leaves and you call it tomato/basil sauce?
Amazing and very very easy….
So easy and much more healthy than canned sauce. I used whole san marzano tomatoes and crushed them with a spoon before cooking them.
This was simply delicious. I added some rosemary and served it over angel hair pasta topped with grilled chicken strips. Will certainly make again and again.
I just made this sauce and I agree with everyone else… so easy to make and very tasty. I added lean ground turkey and it came out really, really good. I just seasoned the turkey with salt, pepper and dry basil. I’m never, ever going to buy a jar of sauce again.
I didn’t think that I was going to like this because the ingredients seemed too simple. However, I love this sauce!!! I made it last night, cooked it for about 30-45 minutes and then put it in the fridge & didn’t have it until tonight & it was delicious!!! I added ground Italian sausage to it & the basil really complement the sausage. And it was SO simple to make. I will be making this for my pasta sause from now on – no more jarred stuff!
Let me start off by saying I DON”T COOK!!!…but i saw this recipe and decided it was easy enough to try and make for my father while my mother was out of town(who is the cook)…my father is Puertorican and old fashioned about what he eats…he thought it was amazing and ate about 3 bowls!!!…I doubled the entire recipe, used an extra can of DICED tomatoes, not crushed..and i cheated and added a bag of the ready-made meatballs and added it to the sauce in the beginning so it was done cooking by the time i served it. Next time i will add ANOTHER extra can of DICED tomatoes…its just my preference i like a chunkier sauce…very fresh and full of flavor!!! making again!
i doubled the recipe and used 1 can crushed and 1 can diced (put in everything – juice and all), and it turned out great! i am definitely going to use this recipe again for any time i need sauce.
