Ingredients

  1. 16 ounces spaghetti
  2. 1 cup chopped turkey bacon or regular bacon
  3. 1/2 cup chopped onion
  4. 2 to 3 cloves garlic, minced
  5. 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  6. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  7. 1 1/2 cups lowfat milk

  9. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
  10. 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley leaves
  11. Salt and ground black pepper

That is not carbonara

I love this recipe! So simple to make. I made a few changes, I use the entire package of bacon rather than just a cup (because who doesn’t love bacon?) and I use red pepper flakes in place of the parsley to give it a little kick. I make this frequently and everyone loves it!

This recipe is all incorrect! Sour Cream? Flour? Milk? Bacon? You are not making Spaghetti Carbonara with those ingredients! You are making Stroganoff!

Very tasty!  I appreciated that this recipe didn’t call for much cheese since I didn’t have any on hand, but I was a little worried that it wouldn’t be quite what I was craving.  However, it’s really delicious and it’ll be added to our family’s favorites.  Just next time over a hunk of moist marinated chicken 🙂
