Ingredients
- ½ cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- ½ cup pizza sauce, divided
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 4 slices pepperoni, or to taste – divided
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Combine bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper in a shallow bowl; place flour into a second bowl. Whisk egg and lemon juice together in a third bowl.
- Dip each chicken breast in egg mixture and dredge in flour; dip again in egg mixture and dredge chicken in crumb mixture until coated. Place coated chicken breasts into a baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until chicken is heated through and crumbs are golden, about 20 minutes.
- Spoon 2 tablespoons pizza sauce onto each chicken breast, sprinkle each with half the mozzarella cheese, and top each with half the pepperoni slices.
- Bake until chicken is no longer pink inside and the juices run clear, about 10 more minutes. An instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of a breast should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

This is really good definitely will make again
Delicious and easy to sub keto friendly ingredients! Used pork rinds instead of bread crumbs and almond flour instead of regular. Very good!
Great taste. Easy to make and definitely a keeper
This recipe is super easy and so Tasty! We loved it!! Will make again and add to our normal menu!!! Used Almond Flour and Panko crumbs.
Loved it! Super good! Served it with a side of spaghetti & marinara with a green salad. Fun to make and very yummy!
Very good, I made it more keto friendly by leaving out the bread crumbs and using almond flour.
It was good.
Way too salty. I think I will adjust seasoning if I make it again
I did two with marinara sauce with pepperoni and one just cheese. The last one, I made with BBQ sauce instead of marinara. The vote was the BBQ one was the best one of the three.
great recipe, family loved it.I did flatten the chicken breast first so it would cook evenly, and I served it with a salad and seemed to be a complete meal, maybe next time I’ll add breadsticks.
I made this recipe as stated and it was great!! My husband really liked the flavour combination . I will be making again.
Ok let me try this again, evidently I hit “ done” by mistake twice…This is a great recipe, I pretty much made it as directed. The only thing I changed was using Panko crumbs and I added some chopped peppers and chopped turkey pepperoni. I also pounded down the breast halves a bit as they were huge, also making them flatter they held the toppings better. I had them with roasted broccoli. Thank you for sharing this recipe, it was delicious !!
I made homemade Italian breadcrumbs and used fresh mozzarella. I served it with Alfredo sauce pasta. It was delicious!!! This will be my go to recipe when I want to mix it up a bit.
Used RAO sauce and turkey pepperoni. So good
Delicious and very easy to make.
I finally made this last night and it was extremely delicious! The pepperoni really sets it apart from being chicken Parmesan. This is a great way to get kids to eat chicken! Will make again and again!
This was very good and simple. I used panko breadcrumbs just because it’s what I had. Didn’t change anything else. My seven-year-old really liked it.
This is delicious! We both felt as if we were cheating on our diet. I used a mixture of half ground pecans, half crushed crackers with a teaspoon of Italian herbs for the breading mixture to make it a bit lower in carbs. I also used fat free mozzarella cheese and turkey pepperonis to make it low fat.
I didn’t have any pizza sauce so I made a 2/3 tomato sauce 1/3 tomatoe paste Italian Seasoning – anise seeds – 2 cloves pressed garlic. A tasty and easy chicken breast recipe that’s different. I’d certainly do it again.
In simple terms, it is chicken parm with pepperoni. We did enjoy it and I liked it better as leftovers. I must admit, I didn’t have any lemon juice so it was omitted.
It’s something new to do with chicken. Top tastes like pizza. Chicken on the bottom. Not too difficult to make. Just wish there was MORE of a pizza taste besides the top layer
