Easy Meatballs

  4.6 – 18 reviews  • Beef

These quick meatballs are made by my husband with just a few basic ingredients like eggs, panko bread crumbs, garlic powder, and fresh basil, and they always turn out aromatic and delectable. Kids also adore them! If desired, completely cover the cooked meatballs in your preferred sauce to bring out their moisture.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 25 mins
Servings: 8
Yield: 40 meatballs

Ingredients

  1. 2 eggs
  2. 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  3. 2 teaspoons chopped fresh basil
  4. 1 teaspoon salt
  5. 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  6. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  7. 2 pounds ground beef
  8. ½ cup panko bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Mix eggs, Italian seasoning, basil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder together in a large bowl. Add beef and panko bread crumbs and mix thoroughly.
  3. Shape mixture into about forty 1 1/2-inch balls, a little smaller than golf balls, using a teaspoon. Place on ungreased, rimmed baking sheets.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the centers, turning halfway through cooking time, 10 to 15 minutes total.

Great taste. And smell.

My grandkids love these and insist on them if we are having spaghetti. I add half a cup of grated parmesan and make half the recipe.

Really good and really easy. I made them with a hamburger and pork meat combo since that’s what I had on hand. Cooked in Ninja air fryer for 10 minutes, flipping once half way. Serve with any sauce!

Straightforward and easy! I halved the recipe to conveniently use 1lb of ground beef.

These were good for a quick meatball. Too much pepper for our taste.

Very good meatballs and they were easy. I like baking them because there it less mess and less hands-on time than cooking on the stove. I used shaker parmesan cheese and it came out great. Use 85% lean beef for best results. Having more fat in the beef will just lead to a puddle of fat in your baking pan. I think 80% would be OK but not anything less. I made bigger meatball (18 versus the 40 smaller ones suggested in the recipe.) I baked at 350 for 30 minutes. I think the recipe assumes the breadcrumbs have salt in them. If they don’t add more salt for a total of 1 to 1-1/2 tsps.

Very simple recipe but needs more seasoning including salt and pepper. I put some grated Parmesan cheese in it as well but still flavor was missing. I would make again but add onion and more garlic powder or fresh garlic.

Excellent! Good texture and taste! I dropped directly into sauce rather than baking….so they stay round.

Yummy and simple! I halved the recipe, used fresh basil and garlic and added some diced onion.

I used fresh minced garlic and fresh basil. I added savoury (or thyme) and oregano to boost the Italian seasoning. It was delicious! Everyone in the group of 8 raved about it.

Great simple recipe. I added oregano and other spices plus about 3 tablespoons of a honey garlic bbq sauce. I also mixed a bit of milk into the eggs and spices. It all worked out great. You can do a lot with this recipe. I would add more salt though.
