Stacey’s Hamburger Seasoning

  4.8 – 242 reviews  • Seasoning Mix Recipes

For holiday dinners and various family get-togethers throughout the year, my grandmother would always make this cornbread dressing. Use your preferred cornmeal mix to prepare a batch of cornbread, which can then be crumbled and added to this beloved family recipe. I hope you find it as entertaining as I have!

Followed the recipe but didn’t have brown sugar. Mixed with 5 venison hamburgers. Tomorrow I will multiply all ingredients by 6 so I will have plenty for burgers and other recipes I cook. Good Job

The most important instruction here is to “Measure with your heart!” It’s a very nice way to elevate a patty. TYVM. ♥

I used it liberally on 70% lean ground beef, no proportion, just sprinkled it on as I mixed the beef with the seasoning. My husband was worried and thought it would be too spicy, but when he tasted the burger it he said it was the best burger he has tasted in a long time. It’s a keeper for sure! Thanks Stacey!

Very tasty! My hamburger was delicious. I’m going to try it on turkey burgers too.

I usually am pretty open with burger seasonings and noticed this one is similar to ones I like but this recipe was AWEFUL. Wrong proportions on everything and the brown sugar/ cayenne is a terrible mixture. I had to toss all the burgers I made with it. 0/10 would not recommend

Made it exactly as written and here’s what I think. While it did give me some pop in my burgers I have to say it wasn’tthat pleasing. I was a bit leary of the cayenne and despite using a bit less than directed it was still too much for me. That and the black pepper were too much. I would drop cayenne and reduce the black pepper and maybe add a bit more salt. PS – I used one batch of this for 1# of burger.

So far so good! Nice recipe!

I made this seasoning exactly as Stacey directed. I mixed 2 teaspoons into each pound of ground beef, then sprinkled about half a teaspoon on the outside of each patty. The resulting burgers tasted great. Thanks, Stacey!

This is my now “go-to” after using the recipe twice now! I’m a 40’s Dad who grills almost every week (TX, USA). This one is Picky Teenagers and Mom Approved! It’s pretty simple but I think Stacey nailed it with the proportions. I will take (2) 1/2 lb packages good ground beef and fold into a mixing bowl the ingredients making about like about 6 patties. Mixing the meat by hand, spreading the seasoning over the surface then mixing by hand again, repeatedly for consistency. Ready for the grill. I don’t do these kinds of reviews hardly at all but I thought this one worth the time. Give it a shot.

I followed the recipe except used a zero calorie brown sugar. I had pre made patties, some beef, some Beyond Meat brand. I wasn’t able to mix it into the meat, so just pressed it on to the outside. Worked well on the grill. Will use again as we have all the ingredients on hand.

One big YUM on this for making very tasty grilled burgers. Gives burgers a classic hamburger joint taste that I just could not replicate at home. Thank you for sharing your secret.

Add a real egg, put real onion chopped, and real minced garlic and it came out better

I’ve made this twice, now. I doubled the recipe each time and store in an airtight container. (True Confessions style time-I left out the brown sugar. It’s just a personal thing.) I took a tip from another reviewer and use 2 teaspoons per pound of ground beef. This gives a great flavor and tiny kick to ground beef in recipes. Thank you for sharing!

Easy and delicious! And no exotic ingredients! No more boring burgers for us!

I like to buy 90% or leaner ground beef which doesn’t have a lot of flavor, and this spice mixture makes great tasting BURGERS! Other seasoning mixes I’ve tried in the past had too much of a meatloaf or meatball flavor-not what I want in a burger. I halved the recipe (4 servings) as a test batch in case I didn’t like it. I took the advice of other reviewers and mixed 2 tsp into a pound of 92% lean ground beef and formed four 4 ounce patties. I sprinkled the remaining spice mix right on the patties and grilled them. Delicious and didn’t taste like meatloaf on a bun! I imagine this mix would also work very well with ground turkey, which is so bland in both taste and color. Thanks so much for the recipe!

Have used the recipe exactly as described for 6-8 patties several times and it is delicious. This last time, I had to cook for more people so I doubled the recipe and after quickly browning each patty for 45 seconds on high heat, I placed them in the oven at 425 and baked them for about 17 minutes in a little bit of bacon grease. (I had cooked some bacon so we could have bacon cheeseburgers.). They were still delicious and an option for those that can’t grill.

I use this all the time now. EVERYONE, and I really do mean that, think it makes the best burgers they’ve ever tasted. I always triple this recipe to have it ready anytime I need it.

Best burger I’ve ever had! My husband is picky about season
