Recipe is fantastic for flavor . Just used again on air fried salmon . Incredible ! Best salmon ever. Chicken also great . Going to try it on burgers next
Love this. We used a smoked paprika and it came out very similar to the BBQ seasoning we had in meal delivery kits. It’s great for just throwing on chicken or whatever to make a quick but flavourful meal. I’m not a huge spice person but I did add a smidgen of cayenne pepper as recommended and it was a perfect little kick.
Excellent rub. Reduced it by 1/2 for 3 lbs of ribs. Tasted wonderful.. will be my go to run for bbq’d ribs from now on. The meat fell off the bone and the glaze from this rub was more flavorble than any sauce.
In all my years of being in culinary this one is one of the best. I substituted paprika for smoked paprika and used it to slow roast my chuck and omg.. that with a Kansas city style bbq sauce will put you into a food coma
Without the sugar, this makes a hellova cole slaw with cider vinegar. Yum yum!
There is such a slow release if flavour you are forced to savour every bite. i was dating a chef and had to up my game…lol…this recipe did it for me.
I added cumin and used smoked paprika to mines also I used crushed red pepper instead of cayenne pepper tastes delicious. I just like a bit more kick
AMAZING!! Everyone loved it, even very picky kids loved it. Will use it frequently! And I agree, brining the chicken was a game changer.
Amazing!!! I have made this 3 times now. It is a family favourite. My kids love it! I use it on chicken and pork chops. I also add in cumin to give it a smoke flavour. It is so delicious. I use a cast iron skillet to cook my pork chops up and this is perfect. for the chicken we eat bbq chicken salad. or chicken salad wraps. It is so delicious. I am going to try on ribs next. This is a staple in our house. TY TY for sharing this recipe!
I used a smoked paprika. I cut the paprika down to 1/3 cup and added 1 tsp cinnamon. I brought other ingredients down to 2/3 of Tbsp instead of a whole Tbsp. I rubbed 8 large thighs with bringing everything down and had more than enough rub. I also used an applewood smoked salt. I was much happier with the recipe the second time with the changes in place. Yummy!
I love this spice rub. I sprinkled it on homemade potato chips and it was soooo good. I use on French fries and chicken…..and so many other things. Excellent go to spice rub. Adjust the salt as you wish but it’s excellent as is. I make big jars of it to give to friends. They all love it too.
I didn’t have any cayenne on hand so I used some dry mustard
Used 1/2 of paprika serving
It was tasty. A little spicy for us but will make again!
I used this recipe 4 times now for pulled pork, in the instant pot. 6lb pork shoulder. I cut the meat to fit my pot best,, then rubbed all sections completely, covered and refrigerated over night and until late the next afternoon, about 30 hours or so. Placed in the instant on a bed of Sweet onion, also scattered thru out the meat,, added 1c Chicken stock, a couple Dashes of Hickory liquid smoke, set the pot for Meat, high pressure 40 min. quick released to check doneness, ALMOST THERE… just a little more, set the pot for another 10 min. Natural release 15. Removed, pulled and it was so tender, falling apart coming out of the pot, moist, full of deep flavor and absolutely delicious! This rub absolutely can stand alone w no sauce neck. its soooo good.. Served on fresh soft pretzel bun,, w fresh slaw,,q baked beans and sweet potatoes.. He added just a little SBR BBQ sauce. This is no doubt my go to rub for pulled pork! absolutely loved it and done in about an hour! WINNING!
This rub is awesome! I make it just the way the recipe says and it’s perfect every time. I use it on chicken and pork.
I LIKED IT
I love this Rub, it easy to put together, and I always make more than enough, to put in a freezer bag and always have it available. It really goes great on chicken(air fried) or Ribs on the Grill
Worked great on pork chops
I love this rub!! I use it every time I make bbq chicken and it turns out fantastic!!! I am no cook and my boyfriend raves about my bbq chicken!!! This is my secret!!!
Cloyingly sweet. Way too much sugar. I would cut the sugar to 1/4 cup Otherwise, excellent recipe!
