Yield: 4 to 6 servings

Ingredients

  1. 2 pounds chicken tenderloins
  2. 1/2 cup buttermilk
  3. 2 dashes hot sauce
  4. 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  5. 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  6. 2 teaspoons seasoning salt
  7. Vegetable oil, for frying
  8. 3/4 cup honey
  9. 3 tablespoons salted butter
  10. 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in a large bowl. Add the buttermilk and hot sauce, then toss to combine. Allow to marinate 15 to 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, pecans and seasoning salt. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over a medium heat until it reaches 375 degrees F.
  4. Place a small pan over a low heat and add the honey and butter. Allow the honey to warm and the butter to melt.
  5. Meanwhile, remove the chicken from the buttermilk a few pieces at a time, then add to the flour/pecan mixture, turning to coat thoroughly. Place on a plate. Continue with the remaining chicken until it is all coated.
  6. Cook the chicken in the skillet in batches, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crisp, about 4 minutes. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate.
  7. Add the chicken to a platter and drizzle over half of the honey butter. Garnish with the parsley. Serve with the remaining honey butter on the side for dipping.

I made this last night and my husband loved it! Made it with hot honey and it was delicious! Will use left over not honey butter to brush salmon! I think that will be great too. Exterior of chicken was crunchy while inside was juicy! It was amazing, will definitely make this again

I loved this too but the recipe comes out with huge advertisements. Its a terrible appearance. What a waste of ink and paper. So discouraging.

Outstanding. For gluten free substituted cornstarch for flour

This is a keeper! We used my new air fryer so I appreciate the other reviews they are helpful. We air fried at 400 for 10 minutes after drizzling with olive oil. So tender and delish! Jeanne

These are absolutely delicious. Made with gluten free flour since their is someone in our family that has celiac disease. I don’t usually fry foods. Next time I think I’m going to bake them.

Such an easy recipe to prepare but packed with flavor.  Even though it is fried,  there wasn’t a greasy taste.  I made this with Chicken Thighs, bone in (my favorite!)..Thanks Ree for this recipe idea.  It is a keeper for sure.

Great recipe Ree! Loved the flavor of the pecan crust and the honey butter was a perfect combo! Love all your recipes!

Tenders were amazing! Honey sauce tasted good as well, think next time we will add some spicyness to it so it’s not so sweet.

YUM!! I made these today and they turned out great! I did not sauce, but the tenders are fantastic. I did half in the air fryer and half in oil just to compare- hands down, the air fryer was the favorite: spritzed with olive oil and cooked 9 min at 400. The pecans toasted and gave such a nice flavor.
