I love the idea of a sugar dip, but I wasn’t a big fan of the chili powder. It was really overpowering and tasted odd. I ended up making my own spicy sugar mix using sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt and cayenne.

Delicious! I’ve brought this to a couple potlucks, and everyone always LOVES it. Some people are a little afraid of it at first, but once they try it they’re hooked.

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! For those of you who worry about carbs, I suggest you work out more. OBVIOUSLY, you problem isn’t eating.

I did a search on “vegan” and this recipe came up. Sugar is not vegan. Maple syrup sugar, is though, and could be substituted.

This was fun to take to the beach, my son thought we were dipping it in the sand! lol

It showed up as one of the more popular low-carb recipes, even though its primary ingredients are sugar and pineapple — neither one low carb. With 18 carbs per serving, it’s practically a whole day’s carb allotment if you’re on Atkins. Food Network’s done well with featuring George Stella’s recipes, which truly are low-carb, but I hope they’d choose more carefully for this section in the future.

Sure it’s healthy but I didn’t get the flavor combo.

It also works with splenda, and pico de gallo, or chili – lime seasoning. The lime really brings out the fruit. Nice simple, healthy dessert.

This dessert has a surprising flavor that keeps you dipping more and more pineapple in that spicy sugar!
