Ultra-Creamy Avocado Smoothie

In many countries folks eat avocados for dessert, in custards and in shakes like this one. The riper the avocado, the sweeter the shake, so you’ll want to adjust the sweetness to taste. If you have matcha (green tea powder) on hand, add some for a boost of antioxidants, nutrients and fiber.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup milk
  2. 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk, plus more to taste
  3. 2 cups crushed ice
  4. 2 ripe Hass avocados, pitted

Instructions

  1. Blend the milk, sweetened condensed milk and ice in a blender until very smooth. Add the avocado flesh and blend again until smooth. The mixture will be quite thick; add cold water a few tablespoons at a time, blending after each addition, until the mixture is pourable. Taste and add more sweetened condensed milk if you want it sweeter. Serve in chilled glasses with straws.

I from Brazil and this is an old time favorite. It does take some getting used to for people who are used to having avocado with salty foods. If you are not very open to new experiences don’t even bother because you’ll hate it. I absolutely looveeee avocado smoothies. Its better to use the Florida Avocado, when really ripe, since it tends to be sweeter. Just keep in mind your proportions. If you put too much avocado and too little milk you’ll probably end up needing a spoon to drink this one!
