1/2 cup of sugar AND apple juice!! Wow! Shame on Giada, this must be the most UNhealthy smoothie recipe I’ve ever seen!

Stop with the sugar already ! Try Stevia it Monk Fruit. Better for you and taste so much better

I don’t understand why anyone would use simple syrup with all that white sugar when you can sweeten your smoothie with honey, which has some health benefits. Sugar has NONE. And apple juice is already sweet.

This was super delicious. I did modify it for dieting purposes. I didn’t use water and suger, I substituted calorie free raspberry water, and I left out the apple juice cause I don’t care for apple juice. I added vanilla protein powder. Even my Dad loved it, and I have to watch his meals due to his being diabetic. this is going to be my new breakfast go to, or lunch too.

Unbelievable!  Dr. has been changing medicines around, which has resulted in terrible acid reflux.  Reflux medication isn’t working.  The other night, I was so sick, I couldn’t eat.  My daughter made this smoothie and gave to me.  OMG – the reflux completely disappeared.  I would never have thought of this.  The taste is fabulous – This is definitely a keeper recipe.  I’d give 10 stars if I could, just because it takes away the sickness.

My first attempt at making a smoothie at home. It turned out delicious. I didn’t have apple juice on hand, so I substituted a half cup of water instead. It was still sweet and wonderful. I don’t have anything against the half cup of sugar. I look forward to playing with the recipe in the future!

SO GOOD. I used apple-raspberry juice and made this as a dessert. Tasted like a milkshake! I’m definitely making this again.
