Green Smoothie

  4.1 – 18 reviews  • Fruit
This pretty green smoothie is packed with fiber, vitamin C and lutein (which may be good for eyesight). Keep frozen grapes in your freezer so you can whirl this up in a pinch for breakfast or for a healthy refresher any time of day.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup chopped fresh pineapple, plus a pineapple wedge for garnish
  2. 1 cup packed chopped kale (stems removed)
  3. 1 cup frozen green grapes
  4. 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  5. 1 teaspoon finely grated fresh ginger
  6. 1 teaspoon ground flaxseed

Instructions

  1. Put the pineapple, kale, frozen grapes, lemon juice, ginger and flaxseed into a blender. I first tried to make this recipe as written but as another reviewer mentioned, it definitely needs additional liquid. I added a little bit of orange juice and coconut water. Love the spicy flavor from the ginger and tartness from the lemon!

Nice a refreshing except it needs a bit more liquid than 1 tbsp of lemon juice, so I added 1/4 of coconut water.
