  1. 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  2. 1/2 cup sugar
  3. 1 cup sour cream
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  5. 1 (8-ounce) container whipped topping (recommended: Cool Whip)

  7. 1 (9-inch) chocolate pie crust

Instructions

  1. Combine softened cream cheese and sugar in mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until creamy. Add sour cream and vanilla, beat until well combined. Stir in cool whip and crushed cookies. Spoon mixture into pie crust using a rubber spatula to spread evenly. Refrigerate for 4 to 5 hours before serving.
  2. To decorate: Through a fine sifter, heavily sprinkle cocoa powder over the cake to make it look like dirt in a graveyard.
  3. To make tombstone cookies scrape the cream filling out of chocolate cookies. Cut off ends of cookies so as to make a rectangular shape.
  4. Using royal icing in a piping bag, pipe scary decorations and words on the tombstone cookies. Examples: BOO, RIP.

I️ can make this pie for Halloween.

Absolutely scrumptious! I used reduced-fat cream cheese to cut down on the calories a bit. Instead of dusting with cocoa powder, I used more crushed Oreo cookies on the top. Fantastic and easy. Sandra, another wonderful recipe. Thanks!

Really good and easy; almost like a light version of a cookies and cream cheesecake!:)

I made this for a Halloween party and everyone loved it! It is definitely an unhealthy cake, but soooo good. Come on, really, who doesn’t like oreos and cool whip? I put about 3/4 cup of sour cream in instead of 1 cup because i wanted it to be a little sweeter. Sandra RULESSS!

This recipe is quick, easy and tasty! I made it for Halloween a few years ago and it caught on with my friends and now they ask me to make it for every holiday!

This is not a cheesecake. If it was, the word “cheesecake” would be in the name. However, it does have some of the same ingredients, so the flavor resembles that of a cheesecake, so obviously don’t try to make it if you don’t like that flavor. That’s like a vegetarian giving a bad review on a pot roast recipe because he/she doesn’t like meat. It’s really easy to make and tastes good, but definately not the best I’ve ever had. It’s the compromise you have to make when trying to do it ‘semihomemade’.

i used all off brands for this recipe and everyone LOVED it, i had co-workers asking if they can take the rest home. Mine did not taste like cheese cake, why would it? it’s not a cheese cake. This is a 5 star recipe not a 1,2 or 3. Creepy cookie cake makers. Sandra your the best. :0) Thanks u so kindly.

This looks good on paper but it tastes like a bad cheese cake. Not a hit for me.

This had a very funny after taste. It’s a cute kids, but using cream cheese, gave it a hint of a cheesecake taste; something kids don’t typically light. had to toss the entire dessert; what a waste of Oreo cookies. should have bought the cheap brand.
