Great flavor and much easier than other Tandoori recipes I have tried.

I served this to company & my friend immediately asked for the recipe. They were easy and terrific. You can experiment with adding extra ingredients to change the flavor a bit (ie a bit of lime or lemon zest or juice) but the basic flavor was just great. A great fun and easy company dish. Also, I only marinated from morning until evening, not overnight

I’ve recently taken a liking to making Indian food, and have made tandoori chicken a few times now, attempting different recipes each time. This recipe, my friends, is NOT tandoori chicken. Wow, this was really bad! I made it mostly out of curiosity to see if it was really as horrible as the reviews say – we all cook differently and honestly sometimes it’s the fault of the cook…I’m just sayin. Without numerous changes, additions, etc., this is not fit to eat as “Indian food,” and particularly NOT tandoori chicken! Keep looking, or do a little research and then create your own!

I completely agree with whoever said Sandra Lee has the WORST recipes on Food Network. I’ve learned my lesson.

WOW! This was just horrible. I should of known not to even try this! I am married to an Indian man and I make Indian dishes alll the time. Sandra being a pro cook should of know that Indian meals call for numerous spices.

If you have never had Indian cuisine, don’t let this recipe be your introduction to it or you will never eat Indian again!

I do increase the amount of paprika and add some salt but other than that this recipe rocks! I always have problems cooking chicken on the grill (burnt outside, raw inside) but this browns up nicely and the meat is moist and well cooked. I cook up extra and use it later in the week for sanwiches.

I was just shocked that this horrible recipe was even showed on TV. Indian cooking involves numerous ingredients, not just two spices. This is a recipe for a bland disaster of tandoori chicken, if you could even call it that. It’s not even reddish/colored.

This is what the tandoori masala entails:
* 100 gms cumin seeds
* 35 gms coriander seeds
* 20 gms cloves
* 5 pieces of 2″ cinnamon sticks
* 20 gms ginger powder
* 20 gms garlic powder
* 20 gms red chilli powder
* 20 gms turmeric powder
* 20 gms mace powder
* 20 gms salt
* 1 tsp orange food coloring

not just GARAM & PAPRIKA.

I am still so shocked at the stupidity in the attempt to make tandoori chicken, Sandra Lee, you failed big time. You can still make an impressive tandoori chicken if you start with ALL the ingredients, I’ve done it before in impressive time. Now thousands of people are going to go home and think Indian food sucks; because of you!

My husband & I make this a lot. We double (possibly even triple) the amount of spices going into the recipe. We also add a few shakes of cayenne pepper & hot curry powder & marinate over night.

It was a good recipe my hubby hated it. But I loved it and will make it for myself again.

This is not a tandoori chicken recipe. Sandra lee doesnt know how to cook indian food, she doesnt even like indian food according to her on food network star. She has the worst recipes on food network.
