Yield: 12 shots

Ingredients

  1. One 1/4-ounce envelope unflavored gelatin
  2. 1/4 cup sugar
  3. 3/4 cup Blue Curacao liqueur
  4. 1/2 cup vodka
  5. One 1/4-ounce pouch unflavored gelatin
  6. 3/4 cup grenadine
  7. 1/2 cup vodka
  8. Whipped cream, homemade or store-bought, for garnish

Instructions

  1. For the blue gelatin layer: Put 1/4 cup cold water in a bowl, sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the top and let it absorb the water for 2 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup boiling water until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Stir in the sugar, allowing it to dissolve, then stir in the Blue Curacao and vodka.
  2. Divide the mixture among the 12 shot glasses, filling them halfway. Refrigerate until firm, about 25 minutes.
  3. For the red gelatin layer: Put 1/4 cup cold water in a bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the top and let it absorb the water for 2 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup boiling water until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Stir in the grenadine and vodka.
  4. Gently pour the red mixture over the blue layer. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. Garnish the shots with whipped cream and serve.

I also made in larger cups mostly because store didn’t have shot glass size, but still made enough. I didn’t use the alcohol and it was a nice refreshing dessert.

Just made this recipe for the 4th. First off I used cordial plastic glasses that I got from Dollar Tree. The 2oz shot glasses are too small as it makes a lot of mixture. Second you really need to put first layer in freezer not frig as it didn’t set up at 25 min. I even put back in frig for another25 min. So then I just stuck in freezer for10 min. That did the trick. Then you could put back in frig after second layer providing you are not using in an hr. Not having mine til Sun. Overnight should do the trick!
