This dish, which my father passed down to me, is simply amazing. I’m hoping you like it.

Additional Time: 1 hr
Total Time: 2 hrs 35 mins
Servings: 10
Yield: 1 9×5-inch loaf

Ingredients

  1. 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  2. 1 cup white sugar
  3. ½ cup butter
  4. 2 eggs, well-beaten
  5. 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  6. 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  7. 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  8. ½ teaspoon baking soda
  9. 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Beat together the cream cheese, sugar, butter, eggs, and banana in a large bowl until very smooth. Stir in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and walnuts until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

I love the addition of cream cheese!

I added applesauce for moisture, and it was fabulous. Also, split the sugar with brown sugar.

This is very light and baked in the correct time. My oven is a convection and did not dry out. Very good recipe!

I followed this recipe and this is one of my favorite banana bread recipes. So delicious and very moist. You will want to keep this one!

Something was left out of the recipe ingredients. The batter came out more like a paste than a batter. It was Impossible to pour the batter into the baking pan. I added 2/3 cup of milk which made it OK.
Anna Anderson
Very moist, to make it healthier, I made it with Whole Wheat/Grain flour.

Best banana bread ever! It made 2 loafs for me. I added a 1/2 tsp salt and handful of raisins. Instead of walnuts I used my own pecans I picked this year. Yum!

I followed the recipe exactly… not impressed. The taste was bland with more of flour taste than banana. Seems all the ones they gave it high marks added additional ingredients to give it flavor. Looked pretty bi that’s about it.

Clearly I made the best looking loaf! May not taste good but it’s beautiful.

I made it exactly like the recipe only with pecans!!

This recipe is perfect!

Definitely a five star recipe! I used one half cup of brown sugar and one half cup of white. I added two teaspoons of vanilla and I added two small yogurts instead of cream cheese. I added one cup of chopped pecans instead of walnuts. It baked in one hour because my pan is a little larger. It is moist and delicious.

I did 1/4 c brown sugar and 3/4 white, and I added chocolate chips. Great recipe!

Flavor is delicious and I think the cream cheese contributes to make the batter very thick. Careful on cooking time! Mine was done in 60 minutes and I was thankful I checked at the one hour point as another few minutes and it would have been very overcooked!

Great flavor, moist. To keep it “banana forward” I used 3 RIPE bananas. And topped the bread with coarsely chopped walnuts. Would have put some in the batter too if I had more. Also topped with straight cinnamon before baking.

I had five overripe bananas, and so I made two batches using this recipe. I made the bread first, and then I made muffins. I did use half white sugar and half brown sugar as many reviewers suggested. I wish I would have had some vanilla extract on hand as I think that would have been the perfect touch. I should have added a pinch of salt as well. But overall, this recipe was perfect for moistness. The bread was done in an hour and five minutes, and the muffins cooked in less time about 45-50 minutes. My husband loves having this on hand for breakfast! This recipe is a keeper!

It’s delicious! The cooking time is too long and I set my timer and left the room (I know shame on me) so it was a little darker than I would have liked. It also had some crunchy corners. So I next time I would probably cut the baking time down to an hour – at least start checking it then. I added about 3/4 of a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips. That added something extra!

This Banana Bread was soooo easy to make and even more moist and delicious. I will be making this often!!

I had three bananas so I used those and only did about it 2 cups of flour. Added Pumpkin pie spice and Apple pie spice. Half brown /half white sugar. Salt. It cooked for over an hour. This was probably the best bread I’ve made yet. Thank you for sharing?

Added it a dash of vanilla and bit of brown sugar. So very light and almost cake like. Took longer than 1hr 15 min. My new go to recipe for BNB!
Emma Morgan
Loved this recipe. The cream cheese made it very moist. Turned out beautiful and delicious
