This is one of our favorite banana bread recipes. I usually bake up a bunch of them to freeze. I will admit to using it for a quick dessert with berries and whipped cream. It is just that good! Kind of a cross between a brownie and a chocolate pound cake. But you can keep calling it bread if it makes you feel better! Either way, it is delicious!

Really enjoy making and eating this delicious banana bread.

I used 1 lb. mashed bananas, about 1 Tbl. butter, and almost 1 c. oil. Omitted the chocolate chips. It made 6 mini loaves @ about 12 oz.

It’a amazing, this is about the 3rd time I’ve made this bread for a thanksgiving side and everyone loves it, I have 6 in my family and it makes plenty for all of us to eat a few slices and still have leftovers. I would also recommend adding some butter when eating

Everybody loved this.

excellent bread, very moist, I used mini semi chips and dark chocolate chips

Loved it! I used butter and full-fat sour cream for a rich, delicious taste. One could omit the cocoa for a traditional banana bread. VERY chocolate-y

I added left over chocolate chips to the batter

This was a great recipe. I did add a 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tsp cinnamon to the batch. Plus, I didn’t have sour cream, so I used whole milk vanilla yogurt instead. This is delicious without being very sweet. This was a huge hit at home and my 9yo son said it was even better than chocolate chip cookies. Oh and this make at least 36 cupcake sized muffins.

I didn’t have sour cream, but used Greek yoghurt which I’d had on hand – was as delicious as ever!

Made according to directions. Dough was very moist and the chocolate was more dominant over the banana. Must remember to use larger bowls for mixing since it makes a large amount of dough. Ate one loaf in just a couple of days. Hubby really liked this recipe as did I.

Husband really likes this! So do I. I have made this three times already. Like some others, I added about a tsp of salt and a tsp of cinnamon. Also used full fat sour cream. EXCELLENT. Our favorite banana bread recipe.

The first time I made this, I followed the recipe but halved the ingredients and made mini loaves (baked for 40 min). The only thing I didn’t halve was the chocolate chips. The second time, I added some extra cocoa powder (3T instead of 2T) for more chocolatey goodness. The loaves were so moist and delicious, and I think this is a five star recipe even without modified amounts of chocolate! I will be making this many more times!!!

Delicious! I usually halve everything so it only makes one loaf, but this is a family favorite for sure!

Tastes good! I like to eat it when it’s still warm! You could reduce the sugar too make it a bit healthier! I also had to cook it for longer than 60 minutes the center wasn’t done so I put tin foil on top so the top didn’t burn and cooked it for 15 more minutes checking every 5 until the center was done.

Will make it again! Very moist!!

This is my go-to banana bread recipe. The kids love it and it disappears within a day. Best banana bread!

The recipe was delicious. The perfect balance of bananas and chocolate. I did not add the chocolate chips because of the reviews. I will try the recipe the next time with chocolate chips. Also, I used regular sour cream. This recipe is a keeper.

didn’t have chocolate chips, but made it anyway. Really good, even without them.
