Ingredients

  1. 3 firm-ripe medium Bosc or Bartlett pears, peeled, cored and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  2. Squeeze lemon juice
  3. 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  4. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  5. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 2 teaspoons plus 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  7. 1/2 cup rolled oats
  8. 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  9. 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  10. 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  11. Pinch kosher salt
  12. 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  13. 1 cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt
  14. 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  15. 1/2 teaspoon finely grated orange zest, plus 1 tablespoon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. For the pear crumbles: Toss the pears, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and 2 teaspoons of the flour together in a medium bowl. Divide the mixture between 3 mini pie plates.
  3. Stir together the remaining 1/2 cup flour, oats, pecans, nutmeg, cloves and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Add the butter and, with fingers, blend it into the dry ingredients until fully incorporated. Squeeze the mixture into clumps, then divide it among the pie plates, spreading it to cover the pears.
  4. Set the pie plates on a rimmed baking sheet and transfer to the oven. Bake until the fruit is bubbling and the crumble mixture is golden brown, about 35 minutes.
  5. For the maple yogurt: Stir together the yogurt, maple syrup, orange zest and juice until well mixed.
  6. Serve the warm crumbles with a dollop of the maple yogurt.

Just okay and a bit dry. Okay for breakfast but not for dessert. I made these for part of a brunch. Not a big hit but still good. Love her show and how she shares her life through her recipes. I am a fan for sure.

As soon as I added the flour to the crumble, I knew it was way out of proportion. But, I thought I would give it a try as it really looked good on the show. It was awful, all you could taste was the flour. i will not make this again, but, I will continue watching the show. I’m sure another recipe will catch my eye and be better.

Wanted to love this but didn’l unfortunately.  Fruit layer needed more liquid.  Crumble layer came out chalky.  Overall taste so/so.  Will not try again

This was good, but not sure I’d make it again.  Didn’t get much juice/liquid.  Felt healthy eating it, as it wasn’t very sweet or fat-laden.
