Reviews
I had to half this recipe for my processor and even halving it gave it a work out. By the time i put in my chocolate, they didn’t blend well. Chocolate really isn’t needed but definitely adds to the ice cream. My berries were a bit tart so I added liquid sweetener.
Overall, delicious!
Such easy ingredients and easy to make.
Delicious!
Delicious!
Loved it!! If you’re trying to lower your sugar intake or keep your figure this will help. One can add anything to sweeten it to your liking.
I usually love Ree’s recipes but this puppy was tart, nasty and not my idea of a dessert..Fruit no problem, needs vanilla yogurt, and 1/2 cup of condensed milk.
Fresh and fruity – the chocolate bits are the perfect touch! Yummm
This was soooooo good!
I used Oikos vanilla yogurt & omitted the chocolate because I’m diabetic. Just sweet enough for me. Thanks Ree!
Good but totally a fruit chocolate smoothie bowl
I just made this. Based on what I read in the reviews, I added 4 tablespoons of granulated sugar. I live in Florida and we have lots of frozen mangoes from our yard. Be sure to chop the frozen fruit before placing into the processor. I used the pulse mode and it worked great. It sort of tastes like a thick smoothie but is creamy. And the addition of the chopped chocolate is delicious. I’m freezing it for us to have following dinner, with the addition of some sweetened whipped cream. A special surprise for the family!
Cut the recipe in half and used 1/2 and 1/2 instead of heavy cream. Added a bit of sweetener. It was very good, and it will be wonderful during the summer months.
I used a bag of mixed frozen fruits with mango, blueberry and strawberry, and followed the recipe exactly, even though I had doubts about the Greek style yogurt tasting a bit heavy-handed. Sure enough, it wasn’t sweet enough to qualify for a dessert. I will make it again, but this time I’ll use vanilla low-fat yogurt instead, which should give the sweetness we like. Halving the recipe makes generous servings for two. The color of the ice cream is very pretty, and the consistency is very similar to regular ice cream. Overall, we liked it very much!
