Why pay top dollar for chocolate-covered strawberries when you can easily make them at home — super fresh and at a fraction of the cost? For the best finished look, try to find jumbo berries with stems.

Total: | 1 hr 5 min |
Active: | 10 min |
Yield: | 1 pound chocolate covered strawberries |
Ingredients
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 3 ounces white chocolate, chopped
- 1 pound strawberries with stems (about 20), washed and dried very well
Instructions
- Put the semisweet and white chocolates into 2 separate heatproof medium bowls. Fill 2 medium saucepans with a couple inches of water and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Turn off the heat; set the bowls of chocolate over the water to melt. Stir until smooth. (Alternatively, melt the chocolates in a microwave at half power, for 1 minute, stir and then heat for another minute or until melted.)
- Once the chocolates are melted and smooth, remove from the heat. Line a sheet pan with parchment or waxed paper. Holding the strawberry by the stem, dip the fruit into the dark chocolate, lift and twist slightly, letting any excess chocolate fall back into the bowl. Set strawberries on the parchment paper. Repeat with the rest of the strawberries. Dip a fork in the white chocolate and drizzle the white chocolate over the dipped strawberries.
- Set the strawberries aside until the chocolate sets, about 30 minutes.

One key thing this recipe should mention is that you should let your strawberrys come to room temp. For this, let them sit out out for a few hours after washing. This will keep strawberrys from sweating and chocolate from falling off.

Thanks
These are a great treat! But for future reference for people who make these, use chocolate that will harden like Packages of chocolate with actual chocolate covered strawberries on the packaging. I found some that worked perfectly! But before that I used regular chocolate and turned out horrible!
Looks easy enough for me to do.
Lol. Please send recipe to me

Quick, simple, and easy. I’m not a fan of white chocolate, so I substituted milk chocolate for that. I also took some pecan pieces and crushed them in a baggie, then sprinkled that over some, too.
Awesome!!!! STARs
Here’s someone else that does what I hate! Cover the dang strawberry all the way up to the stem! 8t looks so ugly undone and unprofessional to half way dip them. Especially it is see companies that do this for purchase, if I as consumer are going to buy their chocolate covered strawberries and pay the exorbitant price they charge I want the whole strawberry covered that’s what I’m paying for. You’re welcome!
Love all
One major ingredient they missed. Add a spoon of crisco to your chocolate when melting. Makes them look shiny & clean and of course, delicious!
