Ingredients

  1. 1 medium russet potato (about 6 ounces), unpeeled
  2. 1 teaspoon olive oil
  3. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat an air fryer to 380 degrees F .
  2. Cut the potato in half lengthwise, then into 1/4-inch slices. Cut the slices into 1/4-inch sticks. Put the fries in a medium bowl and rinse them well with cold water, then drain and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Toss the fries with the oil in a medium bowl, then sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon salt and several grinds of pepper. Working in batches if necessary, put the fries in an even layer in the air fryer basket with no overlapping and cook, turning them halfway through, until golden brown and crisp, 14 to 16 minutes. Remove and season with salt.

Holy cow! These are amazing! We accidentally got a 10 pound bag of potatoes. And I was wondering what I was going to do with all the extras. No need to wonder anymore! I cooked these following the directions exactly. And they’re perfect! May switch up the seasonings some times. Thank you so much!!

McDonald’s has nothing on these awesome French fries perfect if you follow it correctly. I sometimes use black truffle salt to give it the WOW factor caution this recipe is addictive!

Yes, very easy to make and the results are tasty. Instead of placing the ingredients in a bowl, I cut in half an empty plastic bread bag that we save and placed the ingredients and fries in that then shaked the bag to coat the fries. Brought back memories of the good ol’ days with popcorn and melted butter in a brown paper bag.

A big delicious hit!

I don’t bother with the rinse and dry method, just put the fries in the air fryer during the preheat, while I’m mixing the oil and seasonings (we like a garlic bread seasoning blend). Then I remove the now dry potato sticks, toss them in the seasoned oil and return them to the basket for cooking.
